Fancy some Flintshire fresh air, with the chance to mix your countryside days up with city and coast outings too? Set off to Sandy Lane Farm, home to a spacious touring site just outside the little village of Higher Kinnerton. This location, almost on the Wales/England border, is a nicely rural one, with a peaceful atmosphere on site but easy access to the village (less than a mile away) for a shop, a café, a post office and a couple of pubs. Mold and Wrexham are both about 20 minutes’ drive away on the Welsh side of the border, but the big urban day out around here is Chester, over in England but also about 20 minutes’ drive away. The surrounding countryside offers up all sorts of outdoor activities, including walks, watersports and highly scenic games of golf, and there's also the option of getting up to the coast for seaside walks and beach days. In between all these outings, you’ll be staying at a quiet dog-friendly site with spacious pitches and access to essential facilities including toilets, showers, a chemical disposal point and picnic tables for your outdoor meals.

Em va agradar Big pitches could park the unit anyway we wanted.
Was not overcrowded very quiet,well maintained, owners friendly and helpful.close to the village shop and pub which serves great meals, 5mins drive from motorway which get's you to various locations.

No em va agradar Toilet and shower needs some TLC.

No em va agradar Everything. We never got on to the site the gates were closed and there was no answer when we called the number and we called several times
We were left with no where to stay
Furious as we had paid for a site and ended up having to stay in a car park which was not very safe at all

Del gerent: the gates to site are never locked, they are closed for security of guests and animals, if they were how would guests get in and out, and secondly the day in question, my wife had broke her leg and we were in A and E TILL 11.30 THAT NIGHT , SO THERE WAS NO WAY WE COULD ANSWER THE HOUSE PHONE

Em va agradar Large field, friendly owners

No em va agradar Facilities .. one room with shower and toilet, it was described as basic by the owner which I don't mind but it wasn't very clean, full of cobwebs and I didn't use them at all.

Em va agradar Cleanliness of the site, well cared for pitches. Lambs, fresh duck eggs. Friendliness of the owner who was there to meet us and stopped for a chat every day.

Em va agradar Good pitch size

No em va agradar Site is quite a distance from a main road down a very narrow lane we were fortunate we didn’t meet any vehicles coming the other way.
Only 1 toilet and 1 shower in the same building/ shed facilities need modernisation. The waste disposal is a pipe in the ground not covered.

Being only a few miles from Chester (20 minutes’ drive) brings with it all sorts of excellent options for days out, including city walks around the cathedral and city walls (the oldest and most complete in Britain and then the chance to see it all in brightly coloured miniature at Chester in Lego. A little way outside the city centre are Chester Racecourse, Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks and the popular Chester Zoo. Back out in the countryside, there are plenty of great places for walks, including Alyn Waters Country Park (15 minutes) or Nercwys Forest (25 minutes), and some fun activities like axe throwing, paddleboarding and art workshops at Park in the Past (10 minutes). Rack and Ruin Alpacas (20 minutes) is another lovely local spot, offering the chance to take a woolly friend for a walk. The North Wales coast isn’t far off, either, so you might like to head over there for a day at the beach in Rhyl (40 minutes), stopping off at waterside Flint Castle (20 minutes) on the way.
