What a lot there is to do around this peaceful and secluded Mid Wales site a short hop from the Wales/England border. Take your pick from fishing on Brook House Farm Camping and Caravan Site’s own stretch of the River Severn, hiring a bike to pedal around the Welsh Marches, or meandering around the nearby meadows for flora and fauna spotting… all in a lush countryside setting between Welshpool and Shropshire’s county town Shrewsbury. You may be meandering between countries on day trips but one constant in all this is the pristine views on site, with the park set in pretty countryside on the banks of the River Severn with buzzards and the occasional red kite soaring overhead. A spotlessly clean shower block is to hand for guests' use, along with a washing-up area on site. The site is based in the grounds of the Brook House Farm B&B, where you can have breakfast. Or tuck into nosh at the café, use the squeaky clean on-site kitchen, or hire a firepit to sizzle supper under the stars with local produce and essentials from the farm shop and well-stocked shop.

  • No children under 14 permitted in the adults-only field. Hired accommodation: bedding is only provided for the double-bed. The café/bar is open daily on bank holiday weekends and school holidays from 9am until late. On all other dates it is open: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 9am to 4pm; Fridays from 9am until late; and Saturday from 9am to 5pm. It is closed on Mondays.

No em va agradar: Limited toilet & shower facility for the amount of accommodation. Drinking water was just a tap - nowhere for washing up bowl or to keep things off the ground when filling. Having to pay extra for linen for sofa bed usage

Del gerent: Sorry that Brookhouse wasn’t for you. It does clearly state on pitch up that bedding is only provided for the double bed, this is also in your booking confirmation. There are several water points through out the site, not sure what you mean by this was just a tap as that is how we all get water.. from a tap. We do have a washing up area it is where the toilets & shower are. On a plus note glad you enjoyed pizza night 🍕

Em va agradar: Lovely campsite! Very well looked after grounds. Great staff and very nice food. Homemade pizzas 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend. We stayed in a lodge which was lovely had everything we needed for a short weekend away. There was a tea room and little shop walking distance away and a few pubs around the area along with a fishing lake and river onsite. Would definitely come back again.

Parcel·la de terra dur amb electricitat per a caravanes

Em va agradar: The Campsite is in a perfect position for relaxing and unwinding. Beautiful Views and walks all around. The "Potting Shed" cafe/bar is a brilliant social hub that is well stocked with alcohol and cakes. The onsite shop is full of quirky things too. Pizzas made on site to order are fantastic and you can also have afternoon tea, which we haven't tried yet but it looked yummy. They cater for events too and we love this site so much that we are re-doing our wedding vows with 40 lucky friends and family, staying for the whole weekend.

Em va agradar: Myself and my partner stayed on the adults only grass pitch, which was located right by the river. The whole site was amazing, very quiet and friendly. We were very shocked when we found out that this camping site has got a pub on the site, the pub was very modern and have a lovely beer garden with lots of garden furniture. The owners were always very lovely and would always check on us to make sure everything was okay and that we were happy with our stay. The bathrooms and showers were always very clean with plenty of hot water. The owners have a few rules which they ask their guests to follow as it’s understandable as every place have their own rules, they only ask for all dogs to be on leads and to buy fire wood from them and not go to the woods and collect it yourself, unfortunately some people are very disrespectful and don’t know how to follow two simple rules. And when they were asked to stop they fretted the owners of putting a bad review, don’t listen to the bad reviews and visit Brook house farm campsite as it’s honestly lovely and probably one of the best ones we have ever been to. We will definitely be back soon 😀

Lace up your walking boots: with Brook House Farm midway between Welshpool and Shropshire’s county town Shrewsbury, it’s a shrewd place to stop to see the Shropshire Hills and Mid Wales on an active family hol. Shropshire has over 3500 miles’ worth of right of way paths for longer distance hikes and shorter strolls; the 210-mile Severn Way passes along nearby for taking a hike along it on a day trip or stopping off at Brook Farm if you’re attempting it all. The Offa’s Dyke Path can be accessed from here too: the very helpful Brook House Farm owners can arrange a shuttle bus for you to join the trail if you let them know in advance. For less tired feet, a plethora of outdoor pursuits within easy reach of the farm includes horse riding, mountain biking and golf; paragliding and lessons are available at nearby Rodney’s Pillar and the Long Mynd. Land some slippery characters by casting off on the River Severn: Brook House’s own stretch of river yields barbel into double figures, but there are shoals of other nearby spots to land salmon, trout and grayling. There are some commercial fisheries within 20 minutes’ drive to thrash things out at too, such as Weston Pool near Oswestry. Once you’ve cleaned off your catch and soothed your sore feet, jump into the car for some historical highlights: the medieval fortress Powis Castle with its famous French and Italian garden; Shrewsbury Castle with the Shropshire Regimental Museum Trust; the Red Castle and Grotto Hill of the 18th-century Hawkstone Historic Park & Follies, and the town of Shrewsbury, with over 600 listed buildings.
