It’s all about the chilled-out times at Bank Farm Caravan Park, a small, family-run site on a farm just next to the Welsh border. At the foot of the Breiddens with Wales on one side and Shropshire on the other, this site looks to the south, meaning morning views are filled up with valleys and mountains. Of course, you’ll also have your pick of attractions on either side, from Powis Castle and Garden (20 minutes’ drive) to Shrewsbury (25 minutes) and Ironbridge (45 minutes). Now for your neighbours… Bank Farm is a small working farm with sheep and cattle, where the family has added their tender touch to the site for well over 80 years, resulting in a reel of activities. So, you might want to make the most of the play area, games room, football pitch and snooker room (this last one’s for adults only). For a proper pamper session, you might want to head to the jacuzzi after an amble around the local woodlands – these trees are packed with wildlife and the occasional wild deer roaming through, so you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled. And for some downtime by the water, there’s also fishing on site. When it comes to the basic stuff, the facilities have got it under control. There are two utility blocks on site, one with a specific family room, and there’s a laundry room for you to tend to any grubby clothes.

Bank Farm és un càmping molt recomanable, impecablement net i amb instal·lacions excepcionals, especialment les dutxes. Els propietaris són molt amables i servicials. Ofereix vistes espectaculars i espai per als nens, amb una zona de jocs i camp de futbol popular. Tot i que sol ser tranquil, alguns clients mencionen soroll del trànsit d'una carretera propera. La sala de jocs/jacuzzi a l'altre costat de la carretera pot ser una petita molèstia. Tot i així, molts clients volen tornar.

Em va agradar Site was peaceful and we had a level pitch. Spotless facilities with a separate family room for shower and toilet, which was lockable from the inside.

No em va agradar Slight recommendation a second dishwashing sink would be of an advantage. Otherwise great campsite

Em va agradar Everything about this site was fantastic. Owners friendly, helpful and extremely patient with children with sen problems. Facilities are spotless and modernised. Fantastic views from our tent. Beautiful walks nearby and a lovely pub a few minutes walk from the site.They went above and beyond for my daughter’s birthday! Allowing her to feed the lambs and chickens. It was that good we didn’t want to leave! Came back today, called up and now booked in for 2 weeks time.

Em va agradar A lovely clean site, well maintained, clean washrooms. Owners really friendly. Options to check out later at no extra cost. In fact, owners came around and said there was no need to rush checking out.

No em va agradar The road running by which is very busy and The light that we pitched under. There was a local party that went on for two nights with music playing loudly until 3am. Not a common occurrence.

The local party was a one off for someones 50th and we agree it was way too noisy and played too late. Thank goodness it was a one off!!

Em va agradar Staying at Bank Farm was a pleasure and a perfect base to carry on and explore Wales. Water on site fresh from the bore hole tasted great. Plenty of space for the kids to play and even some cows in the field next to us. Facilities very clean and modern. Lovely hosts. Would definitely stay again.

No em va agradar Only down side being close to a busy road woke me up first morning but second night was fine didnt notice it and nice to hear the motorbikes on the rides out to Wales in the morning sipping a coffee. An outdoor pool would top it off 😄.

Em va agradar We had a wonderful stay at this campsite! The location is absolutely beautiful, with amazing views that made our stay feel special. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and there’s a great play area that kept the kids happy and entertained. A special mention to David, he was fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay. Friendly, welcoming, and always on hand if we needed anything. Highly recommend this site – we’ll definitely be back!

Em va agradar The shower block and facilities were spotless as was our pitch on arrival and departure. The site was easy to find and access. The site owners are lovely people well mannered and very welcoming. The site has a kids play area and football pitch with amazing views of the countryside. The jacuzzi was an added bonus all and all our family had a great time and would not hesitate to return

Back to the older ages… there’s many a trip far, far down memory lane around here, beginning with Powis Castle and Garden (20 minutes’ drive). This National Trust castle and country house hark all the way back to medieval times. Fast forward a fair few years and there’s a Tudor centre, museums and the home of Charles Darwin in Shrewsbury (25 minutes) or the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway (25 minutes) for an old-school steam train trip. For an open-air museum experience, the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Ironbridge (45 minutes) will send you through everything from gorges to Victorian towns and over the world’s first cast-iron bridge. But, how about mucking into farm life headfirst too? There are four museums including world war trenches, a Victorian school and an Iron Age Roundhouse to bring to life the past at Park Hall The Countryside Experience (35 minutes), as well as farm animal activities and play areas. Where else to look to? Well, there’s the walled cathedral city of Chester (an hour and 10 minutes) or the Welsh coast (an hour and a half), and Lake Vyrnwy (50 minutes) is a good shot for scenic shooting, mountain biking and horse riding sessions, or watersports.
