Em va agradar A beautifully presented site with such helpful and friendly owners. We arrived late having been held up in awful traffic and despite this we were warmly welcomed and assisted which was so welcomed when arriving with two tired little ones well past bedtime. We were only stopping over en route to elsewhere this time but will be back for longer as it was such a beautiful spot

Em va agradar We were greeted with a very warm welcome when we arrived and offered a choice of a hard standing or grass only pitch, which we chose, it was very level and Large, with no set boundary visible. Electricity was close by and drinking water nearby. The site was immaculately presented with the toilets and shower block were spotless. Electric gate code entry

Em va agradar Lovely spacious and well-maintained site surrounded by beautiful quiet countryside. All the facilities (shower/toilet block, laundry etc) are immaculately clean and all work well. James and Danielle gave us a warm welcome and helpful info-sheets about local attractions and places to eat. Much enjoyed relaxing onsite, appreciating the peace and the scenery. The walk alongside the river to Lake Hotel is great and it’s a short drive to plenty of other walks and viewpoints, with the spectacular views from the top of the Epynt being a real highlight. We’re looking forward to returning to Riverside.

Em va agradar Lovely peaceful site. Clean and tidy. It felt like the middle of nowhere, which could be an advantage as it was lovely and quiet but a disadvantage as there was nothing to do close by once we’d walked around the village.

No em va agradar Wasn’t anywhere close by to let the dogs have a run around off lead. We had paid extra for the dogs.
The showers were 50p per 5 minutes when we had already paid £5 per day for electric. The showers were a trickle at best.

Em va agradar Lovely campsite and facilities. I was expecting to use my awning and initially they wanted to put me on tarmac. However, they did find me a space which suited me and the dogs just fine.

No em va agradar I was very frustrated at the constant dogs yapping from a caravan a few doors down on Sunday afternoon. It was a very hot day and I was concerned for the dogs welfare so raised this with the campsite owner. Also, they had a policy in place that no dogs were to be left unattended. Apparently, due to the owners being regular visitors they were allowed to leave the dogs on their own; no real thought about the rest of the visitors who had to put up with the constant howling and yapping! The campsite owner said they would phone the dogs owner to ensure a fan had been left on for the dogs.
Not quite the peaceful Sunday I desperately wanted as the howling/yapping was upsetting my two also.

You booked a hardstanding pitch over the Bank Holiday weekend. When we showed you to your hardstanding pitch, you asked if you could put in pegs and put up your awning on the hardstanding pitch, and we said you could. But then you said you wanted a grass area for your two dogs. You said you had booked the wrong type of pitch and commented that, “I’m new to this. I should have gone for a grass pitch”. We always do our best to help guests even when we are very busy. Therefore, although we were fully booked for the weekend and you had not told us in advance that you wanted a grass area, we managed to accommodate you so you could have a grass pitch that you wanted. We’re pleased this suited you and your dogs.

The 2 Dachshunds in a seasonal caravan were in the caravan with a fan on while their owners went out nearby. When you told us of your concerns, I followed this up immediately by phoning the owners. Dachshunds are known to have a low tolerance of heat, and the owners quite correctly judged it was safer for the dogs to be in a cool caravan rather than outside in a temperature of over 25 degrees. We have two dogs ourselves and take the utmost care over animal welfare. No-one else (on a full site) made any comment about yapping dogs. I, my wife, and three other family members were on site throughout Sunday and were unaware of what you describe as “constant howling and yapping”, so we do not recognise the description of events that you have given.
