Ready to see the kids’ eyes widen with excitement? Deliver the news that you’re off to a theme park – nope, not just for the day, but actually to move in for a while… Lanarkshire’s M and D’s Theme Park has a plethora of attractions (thrill rides, kids’ rides, family rides, adventure golf, soft play, bowling, an amusement arcade, an indoor rainforest…) that site guests can try for an additional fee. It’s easy to see why you might come to the conclusion that it’d be a struggle to cram it all into one day. To be in with a fighting chance of getting around to every corner of the park, it’s surely sensible to stay at least overnight – if not even longer (more time = more goes on your preferred rides). While the rides and attractions are for an additional fee, site guests can wander around the park for free. This means that you're also welcome to check out the park's food and drinks (at the American-style restaurant, food court, coffee shop and bar) whenever you fancy; for self-catering supplies, make off to Motherwell, 10 minutes’ drive away. Guests can also take advantage of the handy location just off the M74, close to Glasgow and Edinburgh and surrounded by the Strathclyde Country Park. The hardstanding pitches area is just behind the Amazonia indoor rainforest; it's locked at 8pm every night to keep the area secure, but guests can still access toilet facilities and food and drink a short walk away in the hotel.

Em va agradar Staff from the hotel nearby was excellent en extremely helpful.

No em va agradar Near a hotel with wedding venue, when there is a party it's impossible to get sleep from the loud music. You only get a parking spot, and toilet nearby.

Em va agradar The hotel reception and bar staff were very nice & helpful.toilets very clean and warm .had a good choice of food . And 5 minutes walk was a toby carvery . The staff arrived early to clean carpark .
Close to a nice lake + coffeeshop

No em va agradar That at about midnight there was a car racing round the car park screeching ( very large car park) in the morning realised the car had make Tyre marks all over ( do-nuts) they left within 10 mins .the carpark did have a barrier but was not closed .

No em va agradar Awful, we had to leave at 20:30 due to a function being held in the adjacent hall. The park was closed and quiet but the wedding we felt was going to go on for hours. It was an African wedding and the MC on the microphone had a booming voice and was relentless 🤣 The volume was much higher than usual. They all sounded like they were having fun but wouldn’t have made for a good nights sleep. Coupled with seagulls which were everywhere picking up the left over rubbish. And the neds on motorcycles and quad bikes zooming around 😳😩

No em va agradar I cannot get my head around how this place can even advertise on a camping site.
You are in a car park, on the site of a run down amusement park, next to what can only be described as a tip for old broken rides.

Clearly there’s a huge amount to do within the theme park, but it’s also possible that a bit of time away from the bright lights and thrills might be a good idea lest it all get a bit overwhelming. For a bit of calming nature you don’t have to roam very far, as the park and site are within the Strathclyde Country Park, which has a sizeable lake to stroll around. Once you’ve limbered up at the park’s adventure golf, might you perhaps feel ready for something a bit more expansive? There are three golf courses within a 10-minute drive for those ready to face such challenges. Keep that outdoorsy vibe going with outings to meet the creatures that live in the small zoo at Calderglen Country Park (15 minutes) or have a little taste of fifties-style farming life at the working farm at the National Museum of Rural Life (20 minutes). For urban days out, it’s around a 25-minute drive to the centre of Glasgow or around an hour and a quarter to Edinburgh.
