Being Ireland's most southerly Irish-speaking inhabited island, situated some eight miles off the coast of west Cork, makes Cape a pretty special place for your holiday.
Leave the car behind and take the 45-minute ferry trip from Baltimore to this unique island which can easily be walked around on foot. Relax amongst the scenery, while absorbing the tranquil beauty of the island, with its spectacular hills and shimmering harbours. Take in the ever-changing colours of the hillsides, where wild flowers mix with yellows and purples of gorse and heather, turning to the rich autumn gold of bracken.
Chleire Haven campsite has sea views over South Harbour towards the Atlantic ocean. Catch a glimpse of a basking shark, dolphins and whales from your tent!

Itineraris
Take the bus from Cork to Baltimore and from there take the Cape Clear ferry to the island. We will pick you and your bags up from the pier and take you to the campsite. Please include your estimated arrival time in the booking form by using the 'special request' box.

Llocs d'interès
Although you won't be bringing your car onto the island, there is a taxi service if you'd like a tour or to just be taken to the goat farm (which sells ice cream and cheese), Heritage Centre, a working farm or the Maritime Museum. All sites can be reached on foot also.
There are also several monuments on the island, plenty of walks to choose from and lots of beautiful beaches providing great family days out. The island has restaurants, pubs, cafés, a church, craft shops and a lake, so you will never be short of something to do.
