Devon or Cornwall, Cornwall or Devon? Settle yourself down at The Old Rectory Caravan and Camping Park, three miles from Tavistock, to explore both with ease. Amenities at this self-sufficient smallholding include toilet and shower blocks, laundry facilities and a washing-up area; there's also a play area with swings and a slide, and animals to meet and greet. There are little extras around too, such as welly loan, a welly and bike cleaning area and plenty of recycling facilities (to keep your stay green through and through). You can also tuck into the free-range eggs, sausages and bacon produced on site, and, when the weather’s right, homegrown veggies fresh from the polytunnel. After dinner, pick up a tome from the on-site book exchange, or get starry eyed at the dark skies above in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you’re bringing your own well-behaved four-legged companion, they can be exercised in the site’s designated dog-walking field.

  • El càmping només admet reserves de famílies (parents pròxims) i parelles. Es refusaran les reserves de qualsevol altre tipus de grup.
  • The pin sockets in the pods are only usable with suitable camping equipment, phone chargers and low wattage equipment (they are not suitable for domestic 13-amp appliances). Please note: November to March, all the facilities (including the toilet block) are closed except for water, chemical disposal and refuse disposal points. Electricity is metered on-site at £0.35 per kWh. A £5 per night cash deposit may be required on arrival and unused credit will be refunded at check-out.

Em va agradar Aimé l’accueil par la propriétaire, la disponibilité pour le magasin, l’amabilité. Merci. Quand le propriétaire est passé, nous avons eu droit à un cours approfondi de l’Histoire liée au lieu, ainsi que plusieurs histoires passionnées sur ce que ce couple a mis en place (arbres rares, dont des anciennes sortes). Très sympa.
Chouette d’avoir une table à disposition. Pour des gens en cyclotourisme, c’est précieux. Le bonus étant le conseil pour le chemin du départ le lendemain. Magnifique.

No em va agradar L’humidité de l’herbe et de notre tente (toile extérieure) le matin, mais la fautive est la météo.

Em va agradar Home from a really wonderful weekend stay and already looking at the next visit! Stayed in our VW on an electrical hardstanding pitch which the pitch size was very big with grass surroundings so perfect for the dogs. Such a warm welcome on arrival and tour, owners are truly wonderful! The views really are stunning right across Dartmoor.

Highlight for our daughter was not just the new play park equipment but being taken to feed the piglets and George the pig and the free roaming chickens.

Really dog friendly across the whole site including an enclosed dog exercise area.

Electricity is metered which is fabulous and fair (41p for 2 days was just incredible!) with a wonderful offset program and tree planting.

Toilet, shower and dish washing block very clean. Ample recycling and water facilities.

We can’t wait to visit again!

Em va agradar Great welcome and shown around. Everything explained clearly. Upgraded to an electric pitch so that our electric bike could be charged on our pitch, even provided the cable too! Cost 15p!

Em va agradar Everything was just perfect, the pitch was huge hard standing with grass for awning or sun canopy. The view was spectacular, recycling point was brilliantly labelled and good to see people using it. The toilets and showers were clean, tidy and plenty good enough and are electric for two days was 83p

Em va agradar We loved how cute and cosy the vibe was. The tent pitches were generous and boxed in so it felt like a hug from nature. The owners were wonderfully polite, friendly and accommodating. Everyone made us feel welcome. The toilet and shower block was clean and the sinks area was perfect for washing up. The owners took our kiddies to feed the pigs and there is a small field with play frame. There is a shop onsite which sells essentials and a bell to ring if no one is there. It was the best stay for our little family. No swimming pools, arcades or gimmicks - just a lovely welcoming space where you feel safe and free.

Llocs d'interès

Did someone say cream tea? Of course they did, for the market town of Tavistock, three miles away, is the home of this most English custom: the only quibble you might have is deciding whether it's clotted cream or jam to go on your scone first. As well as the cream teas, history buffs with have plenty to explore about the town, which has World Heritage status as it sits just on the edge of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. Horrible History fans can step back in time too at Morwellham Quay (two miles south of the park), a live-action Victorian museum with a historic village, port, copper mine and railway. The site is 10 minutes' drive from the edge of Dartmoor National Park and 25 minutes from one of the Dartmoor visitor centres at Princetown. Also within easy reach are the Tamar Trails activity centre, less than a five-minute drive away, and Maddacleave Wood and Gawton Gravity Hub (an intense 500-foot mountain bike descent trail), within a couple of minutes. Trethorne Leisure Park, about half an hour’s drive north, has something come rain or shine, including dodgems, soft play, farm animals, bowling and crazy golf.
