Rainbow Retreat

Em va agradar: Solo female camper, felt really safe.Stayed 3 nights on the camp and it honestly has a magical feeling to it. It almost feels like you leave the rest of the world and its stresses at the car park. it's simple, basic and rustic truly does have a feeling of sleeping wild. I was stood brushing my teeth watching 2 buzzards circle and hunt for food early in the morning. For me this was just wonderful and Luke was so helpful and welcoming thank you :)

No em va agradar: The trek down is a bit long and bumpy, (5 mins) but it is a working progress.but maybe a bigger deeper wheelbarrow would have been more useful and reduced trips...but I also think that's what made it's so special because you did feel so deep into the woodlands...please don't change it too much maybe just a flatter path..the plans for the place sounds great but I also think too many people at one time would also lose some of its magical feel as it would be nosier...

Em va agradar: Great remote place with lots of trees and birds. Pitches are far from each other, so you don't have to see others if you don't want to.

No em va agradar: Take you wellies, if it rains it's muddy.

Em va agradar: Beautiful scenery, very relaxing good vibes. Great facilities (kitchen area, warm showers and compostable toilet). The owners are lovely and very welcoming. Close enough to the town if you want to explore it but when you’re at the campsite it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful.

Em va agradar: Rainbow Retreat was a real find, a new woodland campsite which is still being created and transformed. For me, it was wonderful to experience it in its infancy and I really look forward to revisiting next year to see how it takes shape. Luke was a wonderful host, friendly, thoughtful and helpful. I love the individual pitches nestled into the woodland which offer plenty of space. Perfect to relax and unwind and just take in the beautiful surroundings and abundance of nature. I didnt feel the need to leave the site during my two night stay. I was quite content absorbing my surroundings, relaxing with a book, taking a walk, enjoying preparing drinks and meals, keeping my camp organised and sitting by a camp fire for the evening. The facilities are excellent and all eco friendly; compost toilets, hot showers, and a lovely communal kitchen shelter that is very well equipped.

Em va agradar: Fabulous location, good tent pitch with lovely view, great facilities with tea, coffee, toiletries etc provided-use of bbq and own fire pit with logs provided( plenty of other wood around). Excellent shower, clean loo- if you want a unique experience camping in the woods this can’t be beaten

No em va agradar: Short walk to site but track is being built- not really an issue for me

Em va agradar: Really friendly people can't do enough for you, eco friendly camping amazing pitches dug into the side of the mountain with peaceful surroundings.

No em va agradar: Not close enough to me to go most weekends for a little trip.
