A day in the surf or strolling along the South West Coast Path, before gathering around the communal firepit – sounds good? Crowborough Farm is a peaceful site within 15 minutes’ drive of the lively Devon beaches, Woolacombe beach and Saunton Sands. On an organic farm, the grass wildflower meadows have views of the sea and Lundy Island, as well as excellent sunsets. It’s a proper back-to-basics set-up, all about being in the countryside. The farm has mobile compost loos made bespoke by local tradesmen using local materials. There is also a shower block with hot water. The communal firepit has wooden benches; you’ll need to bring your own firewood or arrange some with the owners. On site, there is also a sustainable (and colourful) flower farm where you’re welcome to wander around. The farm is a short five-minute drive from Croyde, where you can then walk to the beach or the South West Coast Path towards Baggy Point (popular with climbers). This area of Devon is a World Surfing Reserve, so there are plenty of surf schools a short drive away from the farm too. The local village, Georgeham, is under five minutes’ walk from the farm. It has a village shop with produce such as fresh bread, local eggs, vegetables and dairy, and a post office. There are two pubs in the village (serving excellent food) that often host live bands in the evenings.

Em va agradar Peacefull , simple back to basic site

No em va agradar Showers , Matt came out to have a look as thought may be out of gas . Showed me it working initially but I think the unit has a fault of the leisure / inverter battery getting tired after a few moments it turned itself off reverting back to cold water. Turned it back on got warm then within a minute or so cold again and the shower control pannel was turned off .

Would definitely stay again as I loved the wild eco elements to it

Em va agradar The wild element to the site. Rugged with real back to basic facilities.
Loved the showers. Plenty of hot water.

No em va agradar We could find the place to dispose of rubbish.

Lives up to expectations of a really wild camping experience.

Em va agradar The location is absolutely brilliant. 5 - 10 minute drive from amazing beaches depending on traffic and less than 5 minutes to the village (shop and pub). Nice field with a really wild feeling. Shower was lovely.

No em va agradar Sink being by the toilet was a bit smelly and we didn't know if it was drinking water.

Excellent and quiet site with great showers

Em va agradar This campsite felt like going back in time when camping was wild and free. We loved it. Lovely views, friendly people...the local village has two lovely pubs (walkable). We will be back, we had a great time.
