Calling all conscious campers, Eden Project goers, hikers, cyclists and fisherfolk – this off-grid farm a mile outside the village of Bugle is worth trumpeting about. Merry Meadows Farm is a small-scale spot surrounded by gorgeous Cornish countryside between Bodmin and St Austell. Located approximately a quarter of an hour's drive from Cornwall's stunning south coast, it's in a great location for all manner of outdoor activities. Bugle railway station is just over a mile to the north, meaning this site is very handy for anyone planning to leave the car at home. This is also where the Clay Trail begins, opening up lots of possibilities for hiking or cycling. Anyone tired of walking can opt to loop back to base on the return leg on public transport or by calling a cab. The aim of the owners is to create a simple, eco-friendly, conscious space where you can simply surround yourself by nature, so there's no noisy entertainment here. In line with that, they ask that only eco-friendly products be used inside the site facilities (just visit the site shop if you forget anything). Barbecues are allowed here, and high-quality fresh produce is sold too.
