Macdonald's Farm Touring and Camping is a small family-run park among Cornish countryside and hills, well placed for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty: it’s set back from the county's rugged coastline, half a mile from spectacular Porthcothan Bay on the north Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay, and is award-winning too. This is the place for you if you fancy sleeping under the Cornish stars, eating top-notch local food in the farm garden (open at specific times for breakfast, lunch and dinner during high season, but closed on Mondays), riding ponies and meeting friendly animals (alpacas and rabbits live on site) – perhaps followed by a drink or two from the site's Sundowner Bar (also shut on Mondays). Your booking entitles you to exclusive access to the garden, animals, playground and activities, plus the bar and pop-up food nights. Spacious pitches are set among four small bays on grass at the top of a valley, on a gentle slope, and have excellent far-reaching views. Site amenities include free showers and toilets, disabled facilities, washing-up facilities, a laundry room and baby changing.

Em va agradar: Lovely sheltered location and clean, a site catered to families with excellent facilities.

No em va agradar: Great space, however everyone seemed to be grouped together!! This was the second campsite to have done this on our tour of Cornwall and Devon… why? We were pitched at the furthest part of the park and our neighbours, whom were 3 large families whom liked to play loud music, make their presence known and clearly didn’t understand bedtime. Not to mention their dogs not on a lead and wandering around just like their feral kids.

Em va agradar: Facilities were great, clean and plenty of. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant area was always clean. Drink selection good and the food was amazing, the pizza from the smokers and the grill burgers were spot on. Ideal location in-between newquay and padstow and a short or drive to local beach. Also a very dog friendly site with wash point and local walks. Would definitely stay again.

Em va agradar: The facilities were brilliant and clean showers were very modern and always available, no queuing at all for a morning shower. The on site cafe/bar was fantastic, we enjoyed the smokehouse menu on the first night, food was delicious. We had a wet morning so decided to get breakfast at the cafe and which was great value for money and delicous quality food. The walk to porthcothan takes approximately 20 minutes with a spectacular beach. Easy access to the coastal path and short distance to other towns. We couldn’t fault this campsite, we really enjoyed our stay and will most definitely be coming back! Thanks for our hospitality!

Em va agradar: This is our second time here and we love it ! The staff are faultless , and very helpful & polite, the set up is great! 👍🏼 love that you can have food and drink at the bar on camp , bus stop outside to go to Newquay or Padstow ,facilities are great too

No em va agradar: No heating in the showers or ventilation Hot water hit and miss A gate would be good to keep the dogs inside the dog field as they can escape if your not careful

Llocs d'interès

The nearest beach, Porthcothan, is a small bay popular with families and an excellent spot for bathing and surfing. It’s made up of a narrow inlet with cliffs, sand dunes, rockpools and a little stream running down to the sea all combine to make it an idyllic place for children. The South West Coast Path is easily accessed from here too, for hikes to Newquay eight and a half miles to the south. By road, it’s five and a half miles from the farm to Padstow; a bus running from Padstow to Newquay stops outside the site if you’d rather leave the car behind. Other outdoor activities close by include surfing at Watergate Bay within 15 minutes’ drive or zipping around St Eval Kart Circuit within five minutes’ drive. For food, try the local pub with its spectacular views over Porthcothan Bay, or the Rick Stein seafood restaurant at Padstow. Heading towards the south coast, the Eden Project is 35 minutes’ drive away.

Admissió

Almenys un dels membres del grup ha de tenir 25 anys o més.

Només podreu entrar al càmping després de registrar-vos a recepció.

Allotjament llogat

Allotjament llogat: en arribar al càmping, haureu de pagar una fiança de 200,00 £ (234,80 €) per danys/neteja/polsera que us reembossaran quan marxeu del càmping si, després d'inspeccionar-la, es determina que la unitat no ha sofert danys ni pèrdues durant la vostra estada.

Arribades i sortides

Les arribades tardanes s'han de notificar al càmping al més aviat possible. La vostra reserva queda garantida durant 24 hores. Un cop passat aquest temps, la direcció es reserva el dret de rellogar la vostra unitat.
L'establiment us enviarà més informació sobre el registre d'entrada 14 dia/es abans de la vostra arribada.
No s'ofereixen reembossaments/descomptes per les inclemències metereològiques, les arribades tardanes ni les sortides anticipades.

Es poden portar motos en lloc dels cotxes inclosos en el preu.

Vehicles

El preu només inclou un vehicle si viatgeu amb caravana o tenda de campanya. Si viatgeu amb autocaravana/càmper i voleu portar un vehicle addicional, cal que seleccioneu el cost extra corresponent.
Està prohibit que els vehicles circulin de 23:00 a 7:00.
