Trelawne Manor Holiday Park

The fishing village of Looe is only a couple of miles from your manorly base: hang around at its harbour to see the fisherfolk haul home ashore their daily catch, much of which is dished up in the village restaurants. (And, as with everywhere else in Cornwall, a pasty from a local café is also a must – and do watch out for marauding and thieving seagulls.) Looe is also a shark fishing centre – the Shark Angling Club of Great Britain is based here – so is the top spot in Cornwall to take a boat out for shark fishing; other fishy specimens can be landed from sea fishing trips here too. Polperro a mile and a half away comes with one of our fave Cornish museums, the Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling & Fishing , alongside cafés, pubs, restaurants, another harbour with stonking great views, and many more opps for sampling local pasties. A short drive will take you to the Eden Project, one of Cornwall's most visited attractions; if you want to leave the car behind, a local bus stops just outside the holiday park and runs most days from April to October.
