A sweet time is all but guaranteed in Cornwall – and more so with a stay at Cherry Mason's Fruit Farm. This spacious site with firepits to hand for cosy evenings is set over three green acres in a top location just five minutes’ drive to pretty beaches like Porthleven and Praa Sands. Lots more cracking Cornish sights are also within easy reach, like Flambards Theme Park 10 minutes away just past Helston and the Poldark Mine made famous in the hit TV series (15 minutes). For eats, the famed Rick Stein restaurant is in Porthleven or food is dished up at the inn next door to the site. Burn off calories on one of the most scenic seaside strolls in the county along the Lizard Heritage Coast (less than 20 minutes’ drive) a peninsula worth perusing for its epic views from Lizard Point (25 minutes’ drive). Or pack the beach bag ready for days at Kynance Cove (half an hour away), timing journeys for low tide so you can spend a few hours on the sand... If you’ve missed this window, turn in the other direction towards Penwith Heritage Coast (35 minutes) to paddleboard among the bobbing boats in Mousehole village's harbour or amble in its snaking streets. A little further on (40 minutes from the site), Porthcurno is another ace beach to visit where you can go from taking a dip in the bright blue water to catching a cliffside show at the open-air Minack Theatre right next door. Another low-tide location to check out is St Michael’s Mount; cross the causeway to explore this island and its castle – perhaps with the dog as pets are allowed at Cherry Mason's Fruit Farm.

Cherry Mason's Fruit Farm really is conveniently placed for touring southern Cornwall – the park is 35 minutes’ drive from the surfing beach at Sennen (where you can also wander along the coastal path for 40 minutes to reach Land's End, the most southern point in England) and half an hour to the swish seaside resort of St Ives. Set your sights on the latter for resting up on white beaches and ambling around art galleries – the Tate’s here – or sitting down at fancy eateries for gourmet grub. If all that sounds a bit too serious for a seaside hol, have some family-friendly time at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek (20 minutes’ drive) instead.
