All the fresh air and lovely views of an outdoor stay, combined with all the comfort of a top-quality hotel? And how about the peace of a rural location but easy access to city amenities and attractions? And maybe throw in the joy of having the coast close by as well? If you’re the kind of person that demands a lot from their holiday locations or likes a lot of variety within one break (or perhaps is just a little indecisive), you’ll have made a good choice if you stay at Elessar Yurt Village. This excellent West Sussex glampsite manages to combine all of the above in one lovely location that’s on the edge of the South Downs National Park and yet only 10 minutes’ drive from central Chichester and the coast. As the name suggests, you’ll be staying in yurts here – and these are yurts of the highest quality, kitted out with handmade oak beds, Chesterfield sofas, woodburning stoves, natural coir flooring and lots of luxurious furnishings. Floor beds can be added for children but you’ll need to bring your own bedding for these. Shared facilities are just as fabulous – including a 12-seater wood-fired hot tub, a sociable central campfire area and a luxury bathroom block with hot showers (with massage features that are just bliss after a long walk). Drinking water points are scattered around the site and you’ll have the choice of cooking on the barbecue by your yurt or using the well-equipped ‘tree house’ kitchen. Everything has been well thought out here, from the wheelbarrows to transport your kit to the padlocks to help you ensure the security of your yurt.
