Draysey Woods Nature Escape

Em va agradar Beautiful place. Lots to do for kids and felt confident for my tween to go off on an adventure across the field. I was surprised how much there was to do for kids, and particularly tweens, which was a bonus. Table tennis, badminton, there's a stage, and backstage-den area, giant logs to climb and pretend to be knights. Really nice place. I think we had the best location on the site. We had a bell tent at the top of the hill with stunning vista. Loads of space on our area. Good firepit which can also be used as a barbeque. Lovely solar lights inside. And picnic table next to tent. Great spot to watch the swallows catch dinner. The toilets and showers were very clean and comfortable, although showers handheld. Good separate social area. There is lots of long grass so do bring trousers to run through it and stay safe from ticks. They also sell wood and firelighters in case you need them. Excellent communication. Easy to walk or cycle to pretty town nearby, with a pub that's great for drinks. (Has a few games including pool and climbing frame). There are also pretty paths and lanes to walk through. Will definitely be back with a big group.

Em va agradar Lovely and clean ablution facilities, well sign posted, Table-tennis, Badminton and football games on site, the kettle and fridge/freezer super handy in the communal area, washing up facilities are great. Woodland walk at the edge of the campsite and plenty of pubs in the Surrey hills.

Em va agradar Really enjoyed this campsite! Showers were definitely one of if not the best showers we’ve experienced while camping, hot, clean and powerful. The pitch size and layouts very good. Woods at the bottom of the field were loved by the dogs. The hosts were very friendly (Charlie and Hayley) phoned last minute to add an additional night and they sorted us out! Gave us good information about local attractions. Very well kept campsite.

No em va agradar Wheelbarrowing your gear down to your pitch wasn’t a bad thing but enjoy the exercise before you pitch!

Em va agradar Good facilities. Quiet site. Great for kids. There were fields, a wood to explore, a football pitch and other activities. We stayed in one of the unfurnished bell tents and the campfire set up that came with it was great.

No em va agradar Lack of wheel barrows / trolleys for the site compared to the number of pitches. Made this difficult to get camping kit from drop off location to pitch. Very small drop off location. no set pitches and therefore felt packed in and other camping just waunder into your area.
There seemed to be a lot going on with a kids gathering, meaning it was not peaceful at all.
additional charge for dogs for what reason I have no idea as there were no particular facilities for them other than being allowed off lead in the woods. No hooks to tie leads or dog bowls/ water stations.

Em va agradar A lovely campsite in a great location with great hosts that really care! The set up ensures no overcrowding which is important. A real focus on nature with a family and child friendly feel. The toilets and hot showers are clean and accessible and the communal fridge freezer a bonus as was the table tennis. Camping isn’t camping without a fire pit so great to have that option too!

Em va agradar The long, natural grass, the woods and lake. Lovely surrounding.
Good quality table tennis table and bats was made good use of.
Lots of space (not too many tents) was a great feature.

No em va agradar Needed more wheelbarrows.
For a nature area I was surprised at the lack of recycling facilities.

We have recently added a couple more wheelbarrows but will definitely add to that for the convenience of our guests.

With regards to the recycling. This is hugely important to us too and we’re working on a solution. Unfortunately due to some guests contaminating the recycling with general waste we withdrew the facility as we were being charged an additional amount which we don’t want to have to increase our prices in order to cater for. We know most people are environmentally conscious like ourselves so we will look into a way of reintroducing this.
