Feeling a bit snarly? Nerves getting all gnarly? You could do with a trip to Marlie. Laidback Marlie Holiday Park is in a scenic rural setting close to the beaches of New Romney and Dymchurch, on the Kent coast. With a heated indoor swimming pool and plenty more stuff to keep the kids entertained, it could be just what the doctor ordered to restore your sense of calm… Younger guests can flit between the sessions in the Loopy kids' club, the indoor pool, amusements centre and adventure playground, plus of course all the general running about in the fresh air (arm them with a few carrots and send them off to make friends with the resident rabbits). If you want a break from the cooking, the park has a decent family restaurant; there’s also a bar with Sky TV, and an adjacent entertainment venue with evening entertainment. You can relax in the knowledge that all the basics are covered too: smartly refurbished showers and toilets; a shop (as well a big supermarket just minutes up the road); a launderette; and free wifi in the clubhouse. There, you’re feeling better already, aren’t you?

Em va agradar: A lot of things at the park for children and pods was warm ,the caravan we stayed in prior few nights was also well equipped etc Enjoyable stay and reception helpful

No em va agradar: I do think 4pm is late for check in and should be 3pm and I think 10am is far to early ,I understand cleaning needs to be done but all hotels are 12pm ,even 11am would be great as where it’s 10 u end up leaving to go home as to much to do in the morning so not ready for the day Wi-Fi to expensive per day

Em va agradar: The Glamping pods are brilliant the grandchildren loved it we paid the extra for bedding which I'm glad we did as more room in the car for others things, buy food and milk daily as no fridge we brought ice and put in coolbox and take cooking equipment cups kettle etc, plenty of things local for kids to do and a lovely big field for kids to play so bring games or ball

No em va agradar: Didn't have a dustpan to sweep as grass and woodchips gets dragged in by kids but borrowed a broom from another pod, and a mini fridge would be a great idea and maybe a little park near pods as the park at the front of site and pods furthest away

Em va agradar: The moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The pod itself was lovely and clean with a table and enough chairs. The toilets/showers were less than a minute walk, which were also very clean. The shower was powerful, which usually you find isn't the case. We had an incident where unfortunately our dog was attacked by another dog, despite our dog being on the lead. The staff were amazing. They arranged an emergency vet, the dog owners were told to leave, they were helpful when the police arrived as well as allowing us a late check out the next day which was arranged when we returned from the vets. The clubhouse was clean, the food was quick and tasty. The walks around where the pod was situated was beautiful with plenty of space for the kids to run around and enjoy. We would definitely be returning

Em va agradar: Loved our pod. The girls thought it was a real adventure. The facilities were close as we stayed in Pod1. Couldn’t fault our little trip.

Em va agradar: That was our second visit at the Marlowe Holiday Park. This time we also travelled with a dog and it has been lovely experience. We have stayed in one of the pods and like last time it has been great.

No em va agradar: Food wasn’t best. Showers could be upgraded.

Em va agradar: Loved the pods and lovely little field for the children to make friends and play on. Toilets and showers were clean. Great facilities, clubhouse, swimming pool, shop etc. Staff were all lovely and friendly especially the cleaning crew.

Em va agradar: Stayed in a camping pod, excellent value. Great arcade for kids with pre loaded game cards, allowing the kids to tap to play, also allowing them to collect tickets on their card.

No em va agradar: Take a mattress topper as the mattress has a plastic lining sewed in, can get very hot as a result. Didn’t use the wifi, refuse to pay when perfect 4/5g available.

Buckets and spades are go, with a range of good beaches on the doorstep; try Littlestone and Dymchurch, or Camber Sands a little further away. You’ll spot the steam engines of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway puffing past; don’t miss a trip on this historic miniature railway, one of the best ways to explore the area. Other sporting pursuits on offer include excellent fishing at the Wylands Angling Centre, where there are 10 lakes to choose from; and a wide range of watersports, both on the nearby beaches and at a specially designed lake just inland (sand yachting, wakeboarding, jetskiing and more). Whatever your ages and stages, there’s no shortage of inspiration for a family outing. A 20-minute drive up the road is the fab Port Lympne Reserve, where you can bump along through herds of African wildlife in a safari truck and get up close to the gorillas in the Palace of the Apes; you’ll also see rhinos, elephants, lions, tigers and other ferocious beasts. Alternatively, go for a day out in Dover, to explore the White Cliffs and historic Dover Castle; a sedate saunter around spectacular Leeds Castle, potentially offset with an adrenaline-boosting high ropes adventure at the neighbouring Go Ape centre; a tastebud-tickling trip to the Biddenden Vineyard and Cider Works; a walk down memory lane at Yesterday’s World, or a foray to the Hop Farm near Maidstone.
