Huckleberry Lodge

Which is the best of the north Kent seaside resorts? Whitstable, Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate… they’ve all got their own vibe, and they’re all well worth checking out. And checking them all out is something you can certainly do while you’re staying at Huckleberry Lodge. The lodges at this family-run site are set in two acres of peaceful and pretty land in the village of St Nicholas at Wade. From here it’s easy to get to a number of fabulous beaches, along with family attractions like Wingham Wildlife Park and Howlett’s Wild Animal Park. It’s also less than half an hour’s drive to a stroll along the historic streets of Canterbury. This is a great area for walks and bike rides too: perhaps you’d like to take on a section of the Viking Coastal Trail or just set out to see what you can spot in nearby nature reserves? Either way you can reward yourselves with a drink and some food in one of the local pubs on the way back if you like – there are two about 10 minutes’ walk away in the village. Dogs are welcome to join you on a stay here, and you should be able to find plenty of places to take them for a walk nearby. Lodges here are well spaced and quiet so you’ll have a real sense of peace and privacy for your stay. Each one has a bathroom and mini kitchen (with fridge, microwave and kettle) as well as comfy beds made up for your arrival. Outside is just as lovely – out on the deck you’ll have a firepit and outdoor seating, as well as a real highlight in the form of your own private hot tub.
