As you might guess from the name, Bluebell Coppice Park is a woodland site. But you’ll need to stop for a sec and have a look at the site pics to get a full sense of just how scenic and well maintained it is: expect tall trees, carpets of spring bluebells, excellent facilities and wildlife all around. The park is in a secluded East Sussex valley between Battle and Hastings, deep in 1066 Country and with pitches surrounded by the owners’ private woodland. Look out for species of all sorts during your stay here: the woods are home to – among many others – foxes, rabbits, badgers and squirrels; woodpeckers, owls, buzzards and bats; mice, voles and hedgehogs; grass snakes and slow worms; dragonflies and damsonflies… and plants of all sorts including ferns, orchids, foxgloves and wood anemones. A small coarse fishing lake is also on site (look out here for mallards and moorhens) and there’s a dog-friendly trail for further walks in the woods. Once you’ve exhausted all those options, amble over to the coffee shop for refreshments, then – if the kids have any energy left – over to the adventure play area (it’s suitable for all ages of kids, but parental assistance may be needed for the very young). Pitching is in three fields: the biggest one with the amenities block (newly extended and renovated in 2019 ); the second with the fishing lake, and the third in a woodland area suitable for tents. All guests have access to the amenities block with separate disabled facilities, as well as free hot water available 24 hours a day, and acovered washing-up area. Wardens are on site at all times. And when you’re venturing off site? If you’re not sure where to make for first, the well-stocked tourist information point should supply some tips: you could, for example, have days in Hastings, Battle, Rye, more Sussex seaside towns, nearby nature reserves, the High Wealds, Sussex vineyards, Sussex castles…

Aquest lloc familiar és lloat per la seva acollida cordial, personal servicial i bonic entorn boscos. Les instal·lacions són netes i ben cuidades, amb dutxes calentes i una botiga d'honestedat única. Convenient per explorar Hastings i Battle. Cabana Holly

Em va agradar We stayed in one of the lodges which was lovely, the photos don't do it justice, it's much nicer than you can tell! The location was lovely, surrounded by trees, and really easy driving distance to nearby places like Battle. It seemed like everyone there respected the site rules, at 10pm everything went silent! There's clearly been lots of investment into making the site lovely!

No em va agradar Some information could have been better. You can order fresh croissants in the website before you go, but there's no info on how or where you actually get them, and it turned out there was no reservation or names, and I think the ones we ordered must have been picked up by someone else since they were all marked 'for sale' and what we ordered wasn't there. However, the staff did say they were happy to make more!
WiFi was available, but only near the cafe (which our Lodge was not), with a paid option run by a third party, using a payment method that seemed a bit dodgy and needed a phone call to sort out, which we didn't have phone signal for (if we did have signal we wouldn't have needed the WiFi after all). We actually had to leave the site to go somewhere with signal so we could sort it out.

Em va agradar Eigenlijk niks

No em va agradar Daar aangekomen via een smalle weg verhard en onverhard kregen wij een plaats toegewezen die totaal niet vlak was. Het was nog een hele tour om de caravan waterpas te krijgen. Hele kleine plaatsen met auto en caravan. De camping/glamping was totaal niet wat we op de website zagen. Het buitengevoel midden in het privebos. Ja ja een camping helemaal volgestouwd. Van privacy was al helemaal geen sprake. Wij betaalden €195,00 voor 4 nachten wat erg veel was vonden wij voor deze camping. Toch maar blijven staan want ja alles zat vrij vol. Een camping om maar snel de vergeten qua toegang, staanplaatsen en faciliteiten. De website beloofde veel maar wij hebben er niks van geproefd. Er waren 3 douches klein niet en niet schoon wel warm water gelukkig. Er lag ook overal troep en bouwafval. Wij slaan deze camping/glamping maar over de vlgd keer. Een glamping zeggen ze dan nou ver beneden de maat. Korton nooit meer. O ja we hadden 3 Engelse echtparen met tien kinderen voor ons plekje die voor de nodige reuring zorgde. Voor hun heel gezellig maar voor de andere gasten iets minder.

Cabana Elm 2 habitacions

Em va agradar Locatie en omgeving, mooie plek om Hastings en omgeving te verkennen.

No em va agradar Huisje was op zich oké, maar de veren van het matras kwamen er bijna doorheen. Ook misten we echt een tafel en stoelen om aan te eten of spelletjes te spelen. Zowel binnen als buiten.

Cabana Willow 2 habitacions

Em va agradar We had a lovely few days staying in one of the cabins here. The cabin was small but brilliantly designed to make the best use of spade. It was clean and had everything we needed, including towels and bedding. The site is well maintained and pretty. We had a lot of fun walking in the woods. There are a huge number of DVDs to borrow which was great for rainy evenings. The staff were all really helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back.

Bluebell Coppice Park is well placed within 1066 Country, a five-minute drive from Battle and 15 from Hastings. Bodiam Castle is 20 minutes from the site. The Brakes woodland is a top pick for walks and wildlife watching, and many more walks of varying lengths are in the site surrounds, including the RSPB reserve a few minutes’ stroll away. Zoos, gardens and vineyards are all close by too: ask on site for details. Events – many of them family friendly – run all year round in this part of East Sussex, such as festivals and gigs, farmers’ markets, craft fairs and watersports.
