For a family escape with an educational twist consider a stay at Bowland Escapes, in the middle of a wildlife centre that aims to get kids up to speed on conservation and animal welfare. This place – part of the Bowland Wild Boar Park – is topnotch for groups with younger members keen on cuddling creatures like lambs and baby chicks, or seeing more exotic breeds such as white wallabies, emus and water buffaloes… and wild boar, of course. Other activities with a farmyard focus available at this spot in the Forest of Bowland Area of Natural Beauty include tractor and trailer rides (in the school holidays and on weekends) as well as wildlife walks inside the lush green Ribble Valley with fells and woodland all around. Named paths aimed at kids and adults alike range from the Cartoon and Totem Pole trails to the Bluebell Walk. A play area is also on site. (Please note the Bowland Wild Boar Park is only open to visitors during the school holidays and bank holidays from February to October; check opening times before booking your stay to see if you'll be able to visit the animals or not.) If you’d rather sit and watch the wildlife, a café is opposite the pond at the park where birds fly in to take titbits from the feeder; for other ways to spy winged critters in their natural habitat, you could also wander beside the nearby Hodder river. After lunch at the café, spark up the barbecue for dinner – local produce is plentiful at the nearby farm shop. Another café plus a couple of pubs are in Chipping just over five minutes’ drive away if you’d prefer to spend less time cooking and more time spreading out next to the firepit back on base after a meal made by someone else. Bowland Escapes has shower and toilet blocks and washing-up stations with hot water.

Em va agradar: Beautiful locations. Really nice place. Very quiet and scenic.
Wash facilities 10 stars. Staff great.

No em va agradar: The peacock up the tree who thinks 4am is a good time to start shouting. But then again it adds character.

Em va agradar: Everything about this campsite was amazing, the owners were friendly and welcoming and the facilities were always clean and there was a small shop selling essentials.
Loved the fresh air and how peaceful it was at night and thoroughly loved watching the peacocks and hares early morning and evening.
We highly recommend this site and look forward to staying here again.

Em va agradar: I can not say enough good things about my stay here at bowland escapes this weekend. I travelled on my own with my 9 year old son and camped for the very first time, and although I have nothing to compare it to, I already feel it can't be beaten. The staff were so nice and friendly, and also very accommodating and understanding with the length of my set up and wrap up (I smashed it though for a first timer!) Haha. The grounds were stunning with gorgeous walks and animal pens dotted about, the farm was so lovely, with our highlight being the baby meerkats 🥹. The onsite shower and toilet block were lovely and clean. We will be regulars from here on in. Thank you for a wonderful stay ❤️

Em va agradar: We loved absolutely everything about this site. The staff on arrival were super friendly and helped two pretty clueless first time campers. The pitch was so peacefull but felt really safe, we hired a firepit and the team helped us put it up. We had to leave a day early and the office was closed when we came to leave so were unable to find out where to put this back. And felt bad we couldnt say goodbye and thanks. But that was no reflection on the brilliant team and campsite. The walks locally and scenery was stunning and we had peacocks and baby ducklings walking around us in the morning :)

There may be much to keep you at this wildlife park but family-friendly activities are all around the region too, with the rare breeds of cattle at Cobble Hey Farm & Gardens 25 minutes’ drive away and the rainy-day workshops and events at Barton Grange Garden Centre within half an hour. If it’s sunny, Brock Bottoms Picnic Site (25 minutes) is an excellent spot for an outdoor meal – followed up with an ice cream made courtesy of the milk from the dairy cows at Mrs Dowsons Farm half an hour away. Famous places for the kids are also within an hour’s drive, like the rides at the Blackpool seaside; for grownups, the fell walks of the Lake District are the same distance away.

Admissió

Allotjament llogat

La unitat ha de quedar neta i ordenada. En cas contrari, haureu de pagar un suplement de neteja de 20,00 £ (22,87 €) quan marxeu.

Arribades i sortides

Les arribades tardanes s'han de notificar al càmping al més aviat possible. La vostra reserva queda garantida durant 24 hores. Un cop passat aquest temps, la direcció es reserva el dret de rellogar la vostra unitat.

General

En cas que tingueu alguna queixa, parleu amb recepció de seguida. Aquelles queixes que no hagueu presentat a l'administració durant la vostra estada no es podran resoldre un cop hagueu marxat del càmping.
La direcció es reserva el dret de refusar l'accés o posar fi a l'estada d'aquells hostes que presentin un comportament inapropiat. En tal cas, no s'oferirà cap reembossament.
S'ha de respectar el silenci absolut entre les 23:00 i les 7:00.

Els gossos han d'estar fermats i vigilats en tot moment.
El vostre gos ha d'estar identificat o ha de portar microxip.

Modificacions de la reserva

No és possible modificar les reserves en un període de 14 dies abans de l'arribada.

Ocupació

El càmping només admet reserves de famílies (parents pròxims) i parelles. Es refusaran les reserves de qualsevol altre tipus de grup.

Seguretat
