Em va agradar Good value for money. I liked the views and the freedom to pitch were you liked. Use of a fire pit is free, and bags of wood at £10 each seemed reasonable to me.

No em va agradar A little too barebones for me. The DIY facilities lack proper privacy due to gaps in the cladding; taps were difficult to operate as they are not fixed. No hot water at all - even the shower, which had it's own gas supply, didn't go above 17degrees. A welcome pack or email with campsite rules spelled out and a local guide would have been good. There was no obvious check-in area, just a guy who flagged us down as we arrived who gave information that was useless in that moment and instantly forgotten. They have a no noise policy after 10, despite this, we were kept awake by music and talking that went on past midnight. There was obviously no-one policing this policy.

Em va agradar We loved the setting, the surrounding landscape was gorgeous and we were able to watch the sun rise over the peaks each day. The facilities were great, amazing hot showers and great toilet set up. There was charging for our phones and many sinks for washing dishes, literally everything thought of and catered to. Jonnty was a fantastic host, very attentive, with plenty of great ideas for daily activities. Overall couldn’t have been happier here, a great way to spend my birthday and a perfect base for so many amazing days and walks.

Em va agradar We had a lovely stay at this campsite! The host was so welcoming and friendly, and always on hand with great suggestions for local places to visit. There are so many beautiful spots to explore, all within a short distance. A wonderful location and a lovely host — we’d happily stay again!

Em va agradar The hospitality started right from starting my 3 hour journey from home to the Barn. I arrived 30 mins past the gate closure time which I informed of before leaving home. The welcome brief was warm. The facilities on site are absolutely clean and maintained. This includes hot showers, toilets, kitchen sinks etc. 11 out of 10.

Em va agradar It’s exactly as described what I was after. Basic facilities with a hot shower. Good to have fire pits and wood with firelighters included on site at a reasonable price. The best bit is there’s no phone signal (with my provider) but wifi if you choose. There’s a large poly tunnel over the communal area which is great for washing and drying clothes as it’s always much warmer inside. Jonnty, the owner, is always on hand to help out and offer advice on the local area. This personal touch was great compared to the bigger campsites where the staff aren’t quite as committed to helping you enjoy the place.
Lots of wildlife around the location. You can sit and watch a barn owl hunt in the field next to you.

No em va agradar Know how to drive on a single track road before visiting the Lakes, there’s a lot of traffic on small roads which is ok if drivers are understanding and considerate of others - bikes and walkers included.

Em va agradar Easy to find, incredibly friendly host and a beautiful site to spend a weekend away at. All of the facilities you need and everything is kept in great condition. He gave us some perfect recommendations for places to visit and experince. Would highly recommend this site to others as I've stayed in countless sites. Thank you for a lovely stay and hopefully see you again in the future for more trips to the Lake District :)

Em va agradar The gentlemen who has the camp site was lovely, kept checking to see if we needed anything, nothing was too much trouble for him. He was very knowledgeable about the area and directions of where to go. We had 5 bookings between us and were all able to stay together. All facilities were good, always toilet roll and blue roll available. The whole centre of the site was left empty of tents&car so the children had plenty of room to play. The site also has WiFi& a charging station. My car broke down so I couldn’t leave by 12pm and the owner was totally fine with that and offered help. The children all loved it and we will definitely be back.
