Em va agradar Relaxed atmosphere, came for two nights but stayed for three, it's not the Ritz but felt very welcome by owners, next to main line so you can make people going to work feel bad while you're chilling in a field lol. Suppose if you were a light sleeper trains could be an issue but they don't run all night , will be back again shortly. Mrs loves it so that makes my life easier 😁

Em va agradar Freindlyness of all people on site and in the Pub. The food is very tasty and presented well. Staff are attentative at all times. The site is easy to enter and leave even with a 8 Metre caravan. The Ducks were freindly when they visited.

No em va agradar Toilets are basic but adequate, have used worse, showers are not brilliant but we shower in the caravan anyway. Owner of the site told us that they are waiting for planning approval to update facilities. This was not a major issue for us.

Em va agradar The people that live on the site / stay there on a regular basis are very friendly.
We have small children and there was plenty other kids for them to play with , the kids loved it.
We didn't visit the pub , but was told plenty of times that the food is nice there.
We had a very nice welcome from the ladies in the pub when we checked in though .

The facilities were clean.
It's not the biggest site and is basic but it's all grass so lots of room for kids to play on. it's perfect for a night or two away , we took things to keep the kids entertained aswell and we would definitely go back.

No em va agradar Not that can be helped by the owners but you can hear the traffic on the motorway early in the morning that's not too far.

Next time I'd take ear plugs , if you don't want to be woken up about 6am.

Em va agradar Camped mon 27th till fri 31st july.
Cost £120 non electric grass pitch.
Really impressed with this little site. Not been camping for years but decided to take grandkids (8,4 and 3yrs ) chose this place as it had a pub on site and a play area and was in the middle of 2 places we wanted to take the kids. The pub wasn't open the first 2 days but the owners daughter welcomed us and told us where to go. The toilets and showers are well looked after and cleaned every day the tent field had a train track running past the bottom but it was well fenced off and the kids were safe to run round and we didn't have to worry.also the trains weren't too loud and we made a thing out of it by waving to them going past. The play area was suitable for the little ones but not for the 8 yr old though she enjoyed playing supervisor and using her walkie talkies. We had dinner In the pub on wed and thurs night,the food was lovely and not over priced and the staff were lovely and very friendly. On the whole we had a lovely time and the kids loved it too. We will def be back next time we want go visit the area again.

Em va agradar Great location for a stopover. Easy access from A1. Very friendly. Pub really good. Good price.

No em va agradar Booked in and a site resident with a huge truck full of scrap metal let us in as no site management. (They had gone to the shop) told us to park at the bottom of the field and adapters linking to the nearest pickup point would be brought to us to connect our hookups to. Told us top up a meter card with £15 and they will switch it on when they get back. Then decided once sited to move us. Not a problem but there were dogs belonging to caravan owners roaming around the site. We have dogs but couldn’t allow them out for fear of being attacked. After setting up we visited the dirtiest toilet shower metal shed. Mould everywhere. Shower curtain covered in black thrown over the shower rail and used sponges still on the floor. On the way back we saw the chemical toilet dump, practically a hole in the floor. Got back to our motor homes (both families) and left immediately.

Del gerent: I don't like responding to such negative reviews but I feel like I have to your saying you as told you had to put 15 pound electric on your meter which is not true because we don't sell 15 pound electric cards also the waste disposal dump your referring to as a whole in the ground which is not true and the showers and toilets which you say the dirtiest you have ever seen well I don't believe this totally true either as they are cleaned regular and I don't think you should leave such reviews when they are not totally true

Em va agradar Perfect campsite , there are no traveling people on the site it’s genuine people who have a seasonal pitch, everyone’s friendly. Family who run it are also second to none brilliant people. Will definitely be back
