No one could blame you for wanting a break from the kids, whether they’re your own or just the neighbourhood ones getting underfoot… If that calming escape is calling then make your way to Brick Kiln Campsite, an adults-only site less than five minutes’ drive from the small Suffolk village of Campsea Ashe. In a rural spot, there’s little around this quiet spot but fields. The site’s not set up for electric – though plugs for charging phones can be accessed if going without is a problem – so the outside world may struggle to intrude, and a no-music rule (other than birdsong, of course) should ensure that reading hours and slumbers go undisturbed. Eats are easily sorted without leaving this placid paradise: firepits are available, and there's a communal barbecue where you can cook up more traditional meals (disposable barbecues are also for sale here). Damper hours can be spent in the converted stable, with its shared kitchen and small honesty shop, and when cooking is to be avoided altogether it’s a 10-minute walk across fields to the nearest pub serving food. There's also a reading room with a book exchange and games to keep you entertained. For forays off site, it’s less than 10 minutes' drive to Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – where wildlife spotting, leisurely wanders and seaside strolls are all to be had – and five minutes to the nearest golf course for those who find peace on the tees.

Decent sized pitches with fire pits available.

We camped in a the lovely orchard just next to the main field.

Every pitch gets access to its own firepit. logs and kindling are available to buy at the campsite.

The local shop and pub are a short walk through the lovely suffolk countryside.

Em va agradar: Great facilities. Clean and well maintained toilets and showers. Well equipped kitchen with even a toaster and microwave available for use. I useful and well stocked honesty shop. Pitches are large. Site surrounded by high hedges to keep the wind at bay. We will certainly be back.

No em va agradar: A little my more expensive than similar sites, but many nice touches.

Em va agradar: The time and care that has gone into giving the communal facilities a warm and welcoming feel was very apparent. Loved those pictures of VW camper vans :-). A toaster, hair drier, fridge, coffee machine, etc, all facilities you wouldn’t expect at a budget hotel let alone a campsite. It is clear that the proprietors understand the needs and challenges of camping out and have done a great job in providing a homely and welcoming environment. Appreciated the large sized plot. Signage in and around the site was also much appreciated (particularly the arrows to the village pub and shop). Very much liked the “no music” policy.

Em va agradar: Every attention to detail from a communal toaster and coffee machine, spare washing up liquid, excellent showers and toilets, shop with essential items and honesty box, dog friendly, adult only, old sofa to lounge on outside, pool table, table tennis, cleanliness, friendliness and all round exceptional site. Em va agradar: Super friendly campsite - we felt very welcome. It was relaxing and we thoughtless enjoyed our short trip that allowed us a simple drive to the Suffolk coastline. Great facilities, honesty shop and layout to site. We were only camping for one night, but we would highly recommend this site!

No em va agradar: First time here so we were a little unsure on how to check in on arrival but we were quickly seen. Not so much a dislike as we could have chosen a pitch away from fire pits - We chose not to use ours, but be aware the smell of smoke will likely be shared by your neighbours fire.

We cannot, unfortunately, be on site all the time to welcome campers and as we have a big check in window from 2pm - 9pm it would be difficult to be a constant presence. This is why we operate a self-check in system. For those who might be reading this comment, it is easy to self check in! Head to the office. Select a free pitch from the Whiteboard. Reserve this by writing your name next to the pitch. Set Up!! Camp fires have a very distinctive 'smell' and does cling to clothes - but a rather evocative smell of summer evenings and the countryside. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. T.

Llocs d'interès

Explores of this area are a cinch for pedallers: a trip to nearby Rendlesham (a 10-minute drive) should sort wheels, and the rental place even delivers to site. Once a ride is secured, head along to Rendlesham Forest, a 15-minute drive or 25-minute cycle away, to zip along bike paths through the 1,500-hectare woodland. There’s plenty of history hereabouts to dive into too. The site’s 15 minutes from Framlingham Castle and the Anglo-Saxon king’s ship burial ground at Sutton Hoo, 35 minutes from the stunning famed Victorian pier in Southwold, and 45 minutes from Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum. Even closer at hand, it’s less than five minutes to Marlesford Mills Antiques Centre, if bargain hunting's your bag. On warmer days, make tracks for the seaside. The nearest shingle beach is at Aldeburgh, and it’s 35 minutes to the sandy, pebbled stretch at Southwold (stick around here for brewery and distillery tours, and an excellent pier). For a proper sandy beach though, Lowestoft is a must – it’s 50 minutes from base by car, or an hour on the train from the station five minutes’ drive from the site. Those seeking days among museums, shops, galleries and restaurants should take those tracks in the direction of Ipswich instead, half an hour’s train journey or car ride away.

Les arribades tardanes s'han de notificar al càmping al més aviat possible. La vostra reserva queda garantida durant 24 hores. Un cop passat aquest temps, la direcció es reserva el dret de rellogar la vostra unitat.
Les parcel·les o els allotjaments s'assignaran en arribar al càmping.
No s'ofereixen reembossaments/descomptes per les inclemències metereològiques, les arribades tardanes ni les sortides anticipades.
Si la recepció es troba tancada a l'arribada, registreu-vos al/a la/a l' Office.

Extres

Es poden portar motos en lloc dels cotxes inclosos en el preu.

En cas que tingueu alguna queixa, parleu amb recepció de seguida. Aquelles queixes que no hagueu presentat a l'administració durant la vostra estada no es podran resoldre un cop hagueu marxat del càmping.

Vehicles

El preu només inclou un vehicle si viatgeu amb caravana o tenda de campanya. El preu de reserva per a autocaravanes/càmpers no inclou cap vehicle addicional.
Està prohibit que els vehicles circulin de 22:00 a 7:30.
Només es permet aparcar un vehicle al costat de la parcel·la. Els vehicles addicionals s'han d'aparcar a la zona designada.

Visites
