Take an alpaca for a walk, make friends with pygmy goats and feed ducks (or lambs if you’re here at the right time)… once you’ve met the whole gang at Walnut Tree Meadow Camping, it’s time to sit back and get set for one of the stunning sunsets that often dazzle guests. There’s much to appreciate at this relaxed getaway spot, especially for folk travelling with a dog… Just off the Rebellion Way cycle route, this rural Norfolk site is around five minutes’ drive from the centre of Wymondham and 20 minutes from Norwich (with easy access via the nearby A11). As it’s in the grounds of a canine business, the facilities for canines on holiday are particularly fine: agility, hydrotherapy, canine massage or dog swimming are among the offerings. Facilities on site include a café (dog-friendly, of course), toilets and a washing-up area with hot water. Picnic benches are available and barbecues or firepits are permitted off the ground. Pitches have no boundaries, so lay claim to as much space as you wish; wherever you pick, you’ll have access to a large hot shower or a second shower and indoor toilet behind the café.

Em va agradar The site is excellent with excellent walks and facilities for us and our dogs .The pitches are large with only 2 electric pitches available we opted for the one with most shade unfortunately this was next to a field containing an abundance of annoying insects such as a wide variety of flies .. Because of the extreme heat ..OTher than this our stay was beautiful we saw an array of birds including a little owl which came to see us off on our last day perching on a fence post feeding on the insects ...

No em va agradar The shower in the main campsite was hot and powerful.but the enclosure is rustic which is ok but could do with a clean .The freezer also required emptying as food left by previous campers was still in the freezer .

Would highly recommend.

Em va agradar The area is lovely owner is very nice, pitches were huge with the option to add another as one booking had cancelled. Very accomodating for our group allowing us to put our tents close to eachother, good clean toilets and access to shower.

No em va agradar General waste bin was a bit rank but probably because it hadn't been collected yet.

Excellent site, very friendly

Flick through the history books… the two towers of the Benedictine Wymondham Abbey (five minutes' drive) aren’t hard to spot from afar – and there’s fab architecture inside too. For other trips back to times past, you could travel along the Mid Norfolk Railway (five minutes) or nosy around Norwich (20 minutes) to look at the cathedral, castle and market. In Wymondham, perhaps pay a visit to the Wymondham Heritage Museum (five minutes) or the arts centre at Becket's Chapel. And for beaches, make your way to Gorleston (50 minutes), Cromer (an hour), Wells-next-the-Sea (an hour) or Holkham (an hour and five minutes). Chat to the site about hiring a beach hut if you wish. For activities that will take you to the trees, Thetford Forest Park (35 minutes) is all about those peaceful forest walks and picnics – or, for those more adventurous types, Go Ape Thetford (40 minutes) will give you a birds’ eye view of the forest from the obstacle course and zipwires in the treetops. Whether you’re a big kid or you’ve got ones of your own, there are plenty more family-friendly activities around these parts. Perhaps a zoo day at Banham Zoo (25 minutes) or catching an event at the Norfolk Showground (15 minutes)? Boating on the Norfolk Broads (half an hour) or daring to go on the dinosaur-themed rides at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure (25 minutes)?
