Pitch up near the river and launch your canoe with ease at this small, secluded, friendly and well-maintained green site in Cambridgeshire countryside… or dangle a rod into the water for a spot of (free) coarse fishing, or keep a lazy eye on the offspring at the play park while you lounge about in this scenic setting… all up for easy grabs at Willows Park and Marina near Huntingdon and a short stroll from the Great Ouse river. All pitches are on grass, some under the handsome willow trees. Both areas have easy access to the well-maintained and heated bathroom block with toilets, showers, a big disabled-access bathroom, a laundry room and washing-up areas. There's plenty of room around the site and along the river for wanders; if your feet want to take you further, you can hook up with the Ouse Valley Way from Brampton or Huntingdon (or both; The Willows lies between the two). There's more coarse fishing too at the lake 750 metres away, you can hire boats a couple of miles away, and the watersports and events of Grafham Water are within 20 minutes' drive. Barbecues are allowed on site, but you might, sensibly, opt to sup and sip instead at the neighbouring Brampton Mill gastropub by the river a minute's walk away: it's dog-friendly here too.

Em va agradar: Well-maintained flat site, spacious pitches. Ease of access from A1 and A14. Great for stopover en route to/from Dover. Lovely pub 2 minutes walk away.

Em va agradar: Site looked very neat, level pitch. Warden was very friendly and met us as we arrived, gave clear directions to our pitch. Toilets and showers were clean and loved the music playing in the background. Site was fairly busy but had no issues with showers etc. The toilets/ showers are closed for cleaning between 10.30 and 11.30, this is clearly stated on the welcome sheet. We use this site regularly for a long weekend and would recommend. Lovely food in the Black Bull but booking is advisable.

Em va agradar: Lovely large site with fantastic surroundings. Sharon is extremely Informative and friendly. Beautiful pub 5 mins walk away . Stunning Grafham water 8 mile bike ride away and lovely villages.

Em va agradar: Very nice campsite, well managed by Sharon. Close walk to Hinchingbrooke Country Park which was ideal for our dogs. Very close to the popular Brampton Mill Pub and Restaurant which serves good food although not at the lower end of the price range, however a discount can be obtained off food though the campsite.

No em va agradar: I'm being a bit picky here by saying that the showers just need updating. They were clean but just would benefit by something a little more up to date. Wifi was provided by an external supplier and had to be purchase through them - we kept to 5G.

Em va agradar: Very friendly site manager, very welcoming, nice quiet site next to beautiful surroundings. Good spot for local beauty spots!

No em va agradar: Toilet closes 10:30-11:30 for cleaning but you need to be off site for 11, so a little inconvenient. Basic standard of showers, could do with a bit of a spruce up, but all functional and well maintained.

I note your point about the toilet closing time but they take an hour to turn around and dry and arrivals come in at from 12 noon so sadly no other time to close them to get them cleaned and ready plus myself showered!! For watery sports, there's a sailing club and a watersports centre at Grafham Water, alongside a good-size centre that also includes outdoor playgrounds, Segway hire, a 10-mile circular cycle track (and bike hire), and trout and coarse fishing. The centre's 200-acre nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest runs regular activities and events. Also recommended are Hinchingbrooke House and country park, a few hundred metres away, Pepys House at Brompton and the Cromwell Museum at Huntingdon (both within a couple of miles), and seeing the bird of prey displays at the Raptor Foundation, 20 minutes' drive away at Woodhurst.
