This is border countryside, neither properly English nor Welsh, but very much Shropshire’s own. And Castle Farm Holidays has a lovely patch of it, across green fields just outside the hamlet of Dudleston, gazing onto an old church spire. The glamping units here are little works of wonder that stay cosy whatever the weather brings along. They all come with electric fires, kettles and microwaves, and they're all secluded and quiet, but comfortably close to the shower block which has a wheelchair-friendly wetroom. There’s a splendid pub with food five minutes’ drive away near St Martin's, while shops and big supermarkets are close by in Ellesmere, 10 minutes' drive away. The town’s a handy base for exploring the local area, whose various meres formed a string of lakes and wetlands when the last Ice Age ended. There are lots of walking trails to tramp too: around and beyond the town, along the canal and through to the meres. Birdwatchers flock to Wood Lane Nature Reserve (20 minutes), which draws legions of long-legged water birds like redshanks, whimbrels and green sandpipers. Ellesmere's island (mysteriously called Moscow) is home to a colony of herons, whose soap opera of matching, hatching and chick feeding is beamed live to the big screens at the visitor centre: who needs TV…?

Cabana pod Willow (jacuzzi)

Em va agradar: Willow Pod with hot tub Everything !! The owners were friendly and went above and beyond to make arrival easy and perfect. The pods were clean, spacious and like home from home with special touches , dog biscuits and milk in the fridge on arrival . Toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean along with the dish washer area all very clean and well kept . Beautiful views in a quiet setting and within driving distance of shops, pubs, walks and plenty of things to do . Thoroughly enjoyable stay would definitely revisit .

Em va agradar: Very quiet site with only 5 pods on site. Key for the pod was left in a security box so didn't have to worry about checking in. Clean toilet and shower block. Owners very friendly and popped to the pod to see if we were having a nice time. Ordered logs, matches, and things to toast marshmallows which were there on arrival.

No em va agradar: Advertised as wifi at pod but very bad connection. Could only get connection outside the pod not inside probably because it's rural. Those of you with teenagers will understand the pain of not having it :) Only other thing, we were put in the pod in between 2 families that were together so we had a lot of traffic of people going in between the pods either side of us. They may not have mentioned that they wanted pods next to each other when booking it.

Em va agradar: Fantastic stay accommodation was clean and facilities also, the huts were well maintained, the site had a calm restful feel and the kids loved seeing the cows in the field opposite. We would visit again, there was great communication with the friendly owner also.

Em va agradar: This is an excellent little place for a getaway. We did a little girls trip and the fact that its so secluded was the highlight of the trip, super clean and the hot tub was amazing in the willow pod, Facilities were amazingly clean and smelled good! Loved seeing the cows across the field every morning just added to our experience. Also amazing they offer a firepit hire that includes logs, marshmellows firestarters and matches for £25 and it was worth it we had an amazing fire night. lovely that its so small theres only 5 pods on site which makes it amazingly good for some privacy and quiet. Overall we had a brilliant time and will be returning when we have a chance!

Em va agradar: The pod was great, in a beautiful setting. The rain didn’t dampen our night away. We had the fire pit going regardless. The facilities were immaculately clean. The pod had been decorated with birthday banners as it was my husbands birthday surprise - a lovely touch by the owners.

No em va agradar: We didn’t dislike anything, the only thing we struggled with was the pod was so hot overnight with 4 people and a dog. You may need to open a window if it’s a hot night.

Llocs d'interès

A half-hour drive across the border gets you to Llangollen, a lively spot with a fine backdrop of the Berwyn mountains behind. Sitting on the River Dee, it's a great place for a meander down the canal (you can even hire a horse-drawn boat for an added sense of history). For more vintage experiences, take the steam railway, whose engines puff you 10 miles along the river to Corwen. Heading back further in time, Chirk Castle (20 minutes) sits on a hill surrounded by parkland right by Offa's Dyke; within its grounds is the Great Oak of the Gate of the Dead, a still-thriving tree planted to mark the site of a battle in 1165. Castell Dinas Brân (30 minutes) is another fine fortification, high in the hills and mostly ruined, and with cracking views. These are rivalled only by the ones at Horseshoe Pass (30 minutes), an old mountain route whose vistas are complemented by a café at the top doing bacon sarnies. Also half an hour away, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a mere 38 metres high but you'll feel suspended in thin air as you walk or boat across this narrow 'stream in the sky' built across the Dee in 1805. For watery thrills of another kind, the Blue Planet Aquarium (an hour) has Europe's largest collection of sharks and perhaps the only bunch you can dive in and say hi to.

Allotjament llogat

Allotjament de lloguer: es requereix un dipòsit de 50,00 £ (59,14 €) per danys/neteja/braçalet dins dels 7 dies de l'arribada. El dipòsit es reemborsarà dins dels 2 dies posteriors a la sortida si no es troben danys/pèrdues després de la inspecció de la unitat.

Arribades i sortides

Les arribades tardanes s'han de notificar al càmping al més aviat possible. La vostra reserva queda garantida durant 24 hores. Un cop passat aquest temps, la direcció es reserva el dret de rellogar la vostra unitat.
No s'ofereixen reembossaments/descomptes per les inclemències metereològiques, les arribades tardanes ni les sortides anticipades.

Extres

Es poden portar motos en lloc dels cotxes inclosos en el preu.

En cas que tingueu alguna queixa, parleu amb recepció de seguida. Aquelles queixes que no hagueu presentat a l'administració durant la vostra estada no es podran resoldre un cop hagueu marxat del càmping.
