Superbly set up for coarse fishing it may be, but Oasis Lakes and Holidays, just outside North Somercotes on Lincolnshire’s north-east coast, has much more going for it than that. It’s an adults-only site for starters, it’s small, it’s family-run and it’s well established. And the list goes on. The nine-acre site is set on the edge of a wildlife conservation forest, with lots of stunning views over the fishing lakes and the promise of colourful sunsets on clear evenings. Modern and luxurious shower facilities are spotless and remain that way as they are checked regularly, and you have a decent selection of drinks, snacks, toiletries and barbecue coal in the shop. A ten-minute stroll takes you into North Somercotes and two pubs, a restaurant and takeaways as well a general store and small supermarket. But back to those on-site fishing facilities. There are three well-stocked fishing lakes, where you can (hopefully) catch common carp up to around 20lbs, and a tackle shop selling bait, hooks, line, rigs, rods and reels.

Em va agradar Clean facilities, very quiet, well stocked tackle shop, really friendly owners ( and Skunk.... Yes.... Skunk ). Well stocked fishing lake. Nice quick walk into town for shops or a pint. All in all, we had a really pleasant stay and would have no issues going back. Many thanks.

No em va agradar A caravaner took matters into his own hands and i got verbal abuse, i asked him if he had a issue to please got to reception to complain, but he didnt, put damper on my stay as i like to talk to all people on site but i got snubbed,

Em va agradar Lovely site surrounded by nature. Staff were very friendly and facilities are extremely clean and well looked after. So nice to have the woods behind to walk the dogs in. A short walk along the road brings you to a pub with a Chinese takeaway next door, what's not to like!! There's also an Italian restaurant. We had a lovely peaceful stay and would visit again.

Em va agradar Karl and Joe were brilliant nothing was too much trouble , all ways on hand to ask the fishing was great hubby had a good time went everyday . Pubs nearby to walk to I took the dog up to the woods every day just behind the place .

Em va agradar lovely clean site very peaceful Husband loved the fishing 5 minute walk to nearest shop pub Chinese takeaway showers were lovely and clean but you need at least 40p but worth it.

Wildlife lovers can head for Donna Nook (five minutes’ drive), an area of low-lying land known for its abundant birdlife – and if you’re visiting in October, you may also get to see the colony of grey seals that gathers on the beach to breed. At other times of the year, seals can be more reliably seen in The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (15 minutes) along with other rescue animals including goats and otters. Days on the beach might include the seafront expanse at Mablethorpe (20 minutes), with its aquapark, seafront cycling routes and generous number of cafés and pubs. As well as a sweep of sand, Cleethorpes (half an hour) has a wonderfully restored Victorian-era pier, a golf course and ornamental gardens. Heading inland, the market town of Louth (20 minutes) is known for its antiques emporiums and indie boutiques. Don’t forget that the hills and vales of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (15 minutes) reveal scenic bike rides and walking trails, while there are more gentle strolls to be had in Hubbard’s Hills country park (25 minutes).
