What makes regulars often return year after year to Cottage-Waters, an adults-only countryside touring park in the Lincolnshire countryside? It might have something to do with the fact that it's only a 10-minute drive from the coast, and it most certainly also comes down to how the spacious pitches are spread out over 6.5 acres of countryside and feel lovely and private. Just a few minutes' drive away from the A52, the large, grassy pitches for caravans and motorhomes have an ultra-convenient location for exploring the rest of Lincolnshire. Skegness, Mablethorpe and Chapel St Leonards are within 25 minutes' drive of the site if you fancy visiting sandy beaches. For outdoorsy adventures, the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape is a 10-minute drive away. Look out in any direction from the field for excellent views (and perhaps some wildlife), or get out to explore the local countryside and towns. There are plenty of walks in the locale, as well as pubs, restaurants and cafés a short drive away. A local pub and bus stop are within half an hour's walk of the site too. This is a place where guests can spend their evenings out in the open; barbecues are welcome as long as they're raised off the ground (no campfires, please). Dogs are also very welcome (up to two per pitch), and conveniently, there's a three-quarters-of-an-acre (unfenced) dog walk on site where they can run free if they have good recall. Each pitch has a 16-amp metered electric hook-up point (payable on site), and there's access to a shared chemical point and water supply – but please note there are no toilet or shower facilities here. You're also welcome to bring your own gas and solar to stay off-grid if you wish.

Em va agradar Very spacious pitches, very well kept site, very friendly owners & overall a quiet and relaxing stay. Was a really thoughtful touch when the owners brought fresh scones with cream & jam to each pitch as it was a bank holiday, delicious !!

No em va agradar Not the easiest place to find but instructions via email the day before we travelled helped enormously. Weather forecast was not the best Friday & Saturday but it was glorious on both Sunday & Monday.

Em va agradar The tranquility of the site in a large pitch . The friendliness of the owners was refreshing and most welcome. The site was priced very well and metred electricity worked out very cheap. The small lake and wildlife was very attractive and it was lovely to walk round or just sit on the bench and take in the wonderful view.

Em va agradar Loved the quietness of this site and how the motorhomes were spaced out from one another allowing privacy.
The owners were very friendly and gave us some tips on where to visit. Over the weekend we were given a scone each with jam and cream which was a nice little touch from the owners.

For a laidback day out by the sea, make your way to Sutton on Sea (15 minutes' drive), a traditional seaside town with a lovely pavilion or travel a little bit further to Mablethorpe (20 minutes), a larger coastal town. Just south of them both is the Sandilands National Trust site (15 minutes), a scenic nature reserve for migrating birds. At the seaside resort of Skegness (20 minutes), you can stroll on the waterfront promenade and along the pier, before heading to the aquarium, where residents include sharks and colourful tropical fish. You can also take part in a monthly yoga session against the background of the fish tanks. A lovely area for walking, Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (35 minutes) features arable fields, grasslands and woodland populated by hares, butterflies and kingfishers. The Victorian poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, was born in Somersby, in the south-western reaches of this area, whose landscapes informed much of his work.
