Just off the A44, the road that links Bromyard (five minutes’ drive) to Worcester (half an hour), is Bromyard Downs Campsite. Staying here puts you within the wonderfully lush surroundings of the Worcestershire countryside and within a 25-minute drive of the Malvern Hills National Landscape. If forest bathing is what you are after, this might just be the place for you. The fields here are surrounded by tall, shade-giving trees, with plenty of room to let the kids have a run around and to set up a barbecue. Although this simple site has portable toilet facilities, there are no showers. All pitches have an electric hook-up and access to fresh water and Elsan disposal points. Fields of seasonal bluebells stretch just beyond the site, making a top setting for a walk or a photoshoot with your four-legged friend (the site welcomes most dogs, with some breed restrictions). Woodland paths starting from the site lead to butterfly-rich Bromyard Downs (25 minutes on foot). Alternatively, walk the 40 minutes to Bringsty Common, and reward yourself with a pint and a meal at the local pub, a 16th-century thatched building with exposed wooden beams hung with hops.

Em va agradar The large pirch sizes, the peaceful atmosphere, the friendly staff, location to walks with the dogs! Perfect little site with onsite shop for all those forgotten essentials.

No em va agradar Not having a toilet block - but there are porta loo in each field not necessity. The staff are in the process of sorting a toilet block I believe.

No em va agradar Kids were suppose to play ball games being honest we did push this & play lil bit of ball games but maybe an areas for children to play & shower cubicles but I do know your planning some

We are planning on adding showers etc this winter.

I am sorry we dont allow ball games but the reason for this is that balls damage caravans and motorhomes and are a fire risk if kicked into BBQs or into tents where there may be cooking equipment. However just opposite the campsite is the huge Bromyard Downs where there is loads of space to play ball games or there is the incredible Kempson players park in Bromyard with a full sized football pitch as well as a full play area and zip line.

Em va agradar We loved the warm welcome and friendly staff (Alan is a superb host and recommended some walks and pubs which were perfect). Lovely pitch, well maintained, tidy and spacious. Has all the usual services including water, waste, electricity etc. There are no shower/toilet block but that is clear when you book. They do however provide a portable toilet which we found well kept and clean (nothing like those at festivals!) As a bonus, there is a great little shop on site with all the essentials.

Em va agradar Tucked away in the stunning Herefordshire countryside, this place feels like a total escape from reality. Alan, one of the owners, was an incredible host who went out of his way to make sure our stay was perfect. We especially loved the on site shop stocking our favorite wine, as well as the beautiful scenic stroll down to the local pub.

Em va agradar A very clean and well maintained site pitches are generous, reception had lots of items stocked that you might need, staff very friendly, loved the fact that it's dog friendly we have 3 small ones. The forest walk is amazing for dogs.

The moated, timber-framed manor house at National Trust Brockhampton (five minutes’ drive) has been standing since the 1420s. Check out the impressive estate, with its woodland walks and vast orchards (good news: dogs on leads are allowed on the grounds), and soak up the views of the countryside. In Worcester (half an hour), the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum has an eclectic collection ranging from dinosaur footprints to ethnographic artefacts, plus the Lea and Perrins Archive (you are in Worcestershire, after all). If you wish to admire the local ceramics, head to the Museum of Royal Worcester; if you’re into classical music, check out the National Trust - The Firs: Elgar's Birthplace. Speaking of Elgar, a statue outside the cathedral in Hereford (half an hour) depicts him leaning against his bicycle as he takes in the spectacular architecture. Step inside the cathedral to look at the centuries-old Mappa Mundi (a map of the world as it was known in the Middle Ages) and the Chained Library.
