Few frills but plenty of space, great views and handy amenities – Apperley Court Farm is just the spot for families, couples and small groups who want to experience a relaxed and peaceful few nights under the stars in a classic English village. The pitches are large with lots of space between them, and they have access to essential facilities including toilets and fresh drinking water. You’re welcome to light campfires too, as long as they’re kept off the ground; firewood’s available to purchase on site to make life easy. The pitching field has no light though, so it’s a good idea to bring a bright torch along with you. This laidback site is in the pretty Gloucestershire village of Apperley, looking out over a traditional cricket ground and close to a working farm. Rather handily, the site is within easy walking distance of not one, but three local pubs that serve great food and drinks (one of them is located on the banks of the River Severn with lovely views of the river…) It’s also close to a good number of footpaths, including the Severn Way. If you fancy a change from the rural outlook, it’s an easy journey to Tewkesbury, Cheltenham or Gloucester for a bit of town time.
