Set in a secluded Cotswolds field in south Gloucestershire, Valley Farm Camping is in a wow of a spot. Anyone who’s after a peaceful break with an away-from-it-all vibe and more than a touch of luxury – look no further. Glammy accommodation comes in pre-erected bell tents prettied up with colourful textiles and fairy lights, quality linens and thoughtful touches like lamps and storage. There are cosy throws for cooler nights, and cheery rugs adding a home-from-home feel. The tents come in an assortment of sizes, ready and waiting for families on activity breaks, or couples on a romantic catch up. Hikers will be pleased to know that the Cotswold Way is an easy hop, and you can take shorter walks leading (conveniently) to local pubs (30 minutes’ stroll) for the best of local produce. And if checking out stately piles in a variety of architectural styles floats your boat, you’re spoilt for choice, as there’s a handful of options in less than a 20-minute drive, including the family-friendly Berkeley Castle. There, the kids can dress up as medieval knights and join a dragon hunt – and if they misbehave, just put them in the stocks. Talking of the kids, there’s plenty of room for them to play around on the camping field – it’s well away from the road – and there’s a swimming pool in Wotton-under-Edge (10 minutes) for any rainy days, or you can wear them out on the climbing frames and trampolines at Cattle Country Farm Park (15 minutes).
