At family-friendly site The Thames Head Inn, four miles from Cirencester market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, you definitely won't want to miss the chance. Thames Head is well-placed for exploring the spectacular Cotswolds on foot or by bike – the start of the Thames Path, which follows the world-famous river for 184 miles from source to sea, is half a mile from the site, and there are loads of cycles tours and walking routes starting in Cirencester and Tetbury, both within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. If that's not your scene, kick back on the dog-friendly site in the shade of the trees, soaking in the scenic and peaceful Cotswolds countryside, or take a relaxed stroll through the fields with Rex. Worked up an appetite? The site is in the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant, where food is served well into the evening and the drinks keep flowing until closing (remember to book a table, as mealtimes can get very busy). If you fancy fending for yourself, pick up supplies in Cirencester or Kemble – a 20-minute walk away – and fire up the barbecue. For a change of scenery – and menus – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes of Thames Head.

Em va agradar Food in the pub was good. Site was lovely. Small number of pitches. Good facilities as in hook up, waste disposal and fresh drinking water.

No em va agradar Expensive prices for food and not a lot of choice for vegetarian. Shower and toilet were okay but there was only one of them. So if you wanted the toilet and someone was showering you would have to wait.

Em va agradar We liked the pitch we had, tv aerial etc, it was fairly quiet when we were there and when the pub is open you could use the toilet luckily.

No em va agradar There is only one toilet for everyone with the shower enclosed, so if someone is showering you cannot use the toilet. Also for the time we were there, no toilet roll was provided or anything to dry your hands on, very basic indeed.

Em va agradar Perfect weekend stay in a lovely pub. Sunday lunch was excellent and ambience delightful. Met with friends and there was no hurry or rush between courses.

Em va agradar Great welcome when checking in and shown to our pitch.

Spacious pitch in a small field with easy access to drinking water.

The pub is lovely with a great team and lovely menu (we are vegetarian and there were plenty of options) at reasonable prices.

There are plenty of stately homes near The Thames Head Inn if you want to get a feel for the history of the area, with Newark Park, Sudeley Castle, Dyrham Park, Bowood House and Berkeley Castle all within 45 minutes’ drive of the site.
