What is the guidance on assistance dogs and guide dogs?

We love our four-legged friends here at Pitchup but we know that assistance dogs are not pets and thousands of people rely on them for independence and confidence.

In the UK, under the Equality Act 2010, it is illegal to refuse access to a disabled person accompanied by an assistance dog even where sites may have a no pets or dogs policy, unless in exceptional circumstances (more information available in The Pink Book, by Visit Britain).

We encourage all sites to welcome all assistance dogs even where their site rules may be “no dogs”, and assistance dogs should not incur additional charges.

Where possible we encourage sites to welcome assistance dogs with water stations, and if possible, to let their owners know where they can exercise their dogs on site.
