With fishing and paragliding permits available right on site, the outdoor adventure bar has been set pretty high for guests coming to Camp Gabrje. Thrill seeking tourists also agree that the wild and fast rapids of the Soča river are among the most popular of Europe's waterways for the likes of rafting, kayaking, and hydrospeeding. The section of the Soča that runs alongside Camp Gabrje provides exactly the right conditions for all these pursuits: rafters can head over to the village of Trnovo ob Soči, on the right bank of the Soča River; kayakers can convene at the section of river that runs between the Soča Otona pool and Kobarid; hydrospeeding hedonists will find their home in the Kobarid Gorge; and whitewater newbs can practice safely among the calm waters that flow over the gravel sections that lie between Kobarid and Tolmin. Canyoning is good around here too – you'll have a whale of a time exploring handsome gorges, waterfalls and pools using a combination of techniques that include walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and swimming under the guidance of experienced local guides along the Pršjak river towards Pršjak Waterfall. There are absolutely heaps of walking and cycling trails that lead straight from the site and network the area; old army roads and walking trails utilised during World Wars I and II take you along the valley's lakes and rivers to waterfalls and gorges – all you need to do is choose which direction you want to head in.
