喜欢 What a fantastic hidden gem of a site this is. My husband and the kids stopped here one night (in a camper van) earlier in the year and insisted we came back for a longer visit to the area/site. This visit we were in one of the fabulous glamping pods. These are quite easily the best pods I have ever stayed in. Its so spacious! I loved the bunk beds in the back corner, in effect giving a separate room for the kids within the pod, I have never seen a layout like this before and its excellent. The bathroom is a great addition also, the shower was spacious, hot, and with good pressure. The kitchenette was well appointed and I particularly liked the full size under counter fridge. The pod also had a sofa and a table which could pull out for dinner if the weather was bad or there is a table and chairs on the decking. I also particularly liked that the decking has a gate so the dogs could be left out on the decking without any worry about them bothering the chickens on the grass. The paddock itself is lovely, spacious, lots of room for games and with swings/climbing frame, a goal and footballs. The farmer is a delight, my daughter loved her tour of the animals and is obsessed with the goats! The emu's are entertaining to watch potter about too. The site is well placed for exploring the local area with beaches, walks, the laal ratty, Whitehaven and muncaster all within a short drive. 10/10 and very much recommended, we will certainly be back again.

喜欢 This is our 3rd visit to this site, normally we are in a campervan with awning (and have previously left excellent reviews as the pitches/facilities for campers are great). This visit we stayed in one of the shepard huts and I am even more in love with this site than before! The huts are fabulous, they have thought of everything. I cannot think of anything you would need that wasn't in there. 2 burner hob, microwave, small fridge, crockery/pots and pans, marshmallow toasting forks for the fire pit. Wood for the fireplace and inside log burner, blankets for the evening. It has a litter heater too. A selection of books including the nightsky and local area. The bed and bedding was incredibly comfortable and the fold out futon for the kids (13 and 9 - so it's a decent size) was also very comfy and got no complaints. Large amount of storage under the bed so no falling over bags. The shower pressure wasn't bad and the temperature was very good. You are right up the top of the site in these huts so it's lovely and quiet, lots of green space for the kids to run around and a nice sized deck and outside furniture for eating in the evening. We had really good weather so could sit out each night, I do imagine if it was raining you'd feel a little cramped inside but there again you feel that in a tent too! The site was impeccably clean and tidy as ever, the shop and the delicious bacon rolls were also as good as ever. I quite literally cannot fault this site and it is the only campsite I have ever been back to more than once. Its so well placed for exploring the local history on foot or by car. Haltwhistle has a sainsbury and a good chippy. We will be back again for certain!

不喜欢 Absolutely nothing, it's is the most perfect campsite I have ever stayed at.

喜欢 Wild/off grid nature. Location is excellent. Good size, flat, well drained pitch. Water tap on pitch. Lovely spacious field for the kids to run about. On a quiet lane good for dog walking. Not crowded. Off the beaten track. Clean toilets and showers. Big washing up sink.

不喜欢 Only one washing up sink and it's open air (under a cover) and the toilets/showers whilst excellent for cleanliness are on decking which is open air and could do with a bit of a roof/shelter even if not over the whole area. But none of this detracts from the site as a whole and we will absolutely be back.

喜欢 Spacious pitches, small site, didn't feel overlooked or crowded. You pick your pitch on arrival so its luck of the draw but all looked big enough. We are a camper van and decent sized awning and had plenty of room. Toilets and shower clean, shower hot and enough space to get dressed in the cubicle after. Good location for exploring the area and would go again.

喜欢 Small site right in the grounds of paxton house. Now has a small toilet block on site.

不喜欢 Wedding venue music until quite late Saturday (we knew about this) but it would probably put me off going again. Not the cheapest considering how basic
