Great location with some more secluded spots which we appreciated for privacy. The toilet/shower block and kitchen were clean and well maintained, again good to have privacy with separate toilet/shower cubicles accessed from the outside (no awkward shared facilities). We found a slightly elevated pitch with shelter but could still see the beach. It was nice to have no one pitched right next to us, and other campers were very respectful of noise levels. The owners were friendly and welcoming, their dogs beautifully well-behaved. We were very fortunate to hear rare Corncrake and Twite throughout our stay, and the Twite liked to perch on our tent poles!

The ground was quite saturated in places although the owners have made efforts to make drainage channels. It’s not so much of a criticism as an observation. We stayed 2 nights, so anyone staying longer may need to move pitch to avoid it getting into a mud bath, depending where you pitch. The positives far out way this though, and we loved our stay at Iona campsite.

Fantastic site . Having a kitchen with everything you needed so not needing to bring plates and cups and cutlery better was the microwave, toaster and kettle so no need to take your own plates and cutlery .the toilets and showers were the best we've used . Added bonus of heated radiator in the toilet/ shower room

The campsite was a short walk across the Machair to the bay, in a beautiful setting. The site itself is clean, quiet and simple, we didn’t get a chance to use it but the bbq area looked great too. The toilet and shower block was always clean, the kitchen too and it was really handy to have!

Lovely campsite and location. Facilities excellent, fridge, kettle and microwave available to use and great location near the beach.
