Lovely shaped campsite with very good shower facilities

A place to sit in the kitchen would have been good

This is a great wee campsite. Lovely, clean toilets and showers and with the benefit of a wee kitchen with toaster, microwave and kettle helped during the wet weather. So quiet and peaceful.
Would definitely return.

Iona is an incredible little island and this campsite was perfect. Facilities are modern and clean.

Real struggle to find fault with this site. Really nice welcome from the patron, who explained concisely all information about the site, rules, pitching options and where the amenities block was. Nice and fairly new toilet/shower/kitchen block within easy access from all parts of the site. Ramped access to a disabled access toilet and shower. All four of the toilet and shower rooms are clean tidy and well stocked with heated towel rails and plenty of room to move around. Good sized kitchen area with communal fridge, kettle, microwave and sink for washing up. All cold water is drinking water. Finding the site was a fairly straightforward 20 mins walk from the ferry landing, I'd advise following the only tarmac road to the site as there's a gentler hill to walk up (there's practically no traffic to worry about too). The site is in a beautiful location far enough away from the main village on the island so it's not too busy with tourists during the day and really peaceful on a night time. There are a number of picnic benches and a sun lounger on the site, as well as a firepit. Only 10 mins walk away there's a beautiful pebble and white sand beach where, on a good day, you can sit and watch the sunset with an uninterrupted view. I'd advise getting to the island before mid afternoon as most of the shops (especially the Spar) and such like close by 5pm - the only pub shuts at 7pm and stops servingfood at 6pm, though a couple of the hotels stay open later for food and drinks. Just remember you can't take your car on to the island so bear in mind that you'll have to carry everything you need. Such good value for money though and a wonderful experience, can't recommend it enough.
