Might you care for lush mountain views on your Spanish holiday? How about pitching up in the province of Malaga, surrounded by three national parks in a setting among olive trees, centenary trees and forests – and a piffling distance from the fab old town of Ronda? Sure you would... so settle down for some significant time at Camping El Sur. El Sur is a peaceful, roomy and family-friendly site, close to the Sierra de Grazalema, Sierra de las Nieves and Los Alcornocales natural parks. Stacks more spectacular sights are within easy driving distance: ask the knowledgeable El Sur reception team for info on the best attractions and scenic car ride routes. Should you care to stick around on site for a spell (you surely should), the modern facilities include miniature golf, ping pong tables and a summer pool scenically set among greenery and flowers. A bar-restaurant serves traditional local food along with tapas and homemade cakes – you might very much care for all these foodie goodies also.

喜欢: Really friendly welcome, well-laid out site with great facilities. Approx 1.5km walk to Ronda. Good suggestions for itinerary for 4 days although we only stayed for one night to visit the town.

喜欢: Super friendly and efficient check-in. Very clean and nice site with great facilities. We came in early October and the pool was still open. About 15-20 minutes by foot to Ronda center which is super nice to visit. The best site we have stayed at in Spain. Would love to come back.

不喜欢: Wifi a bit slow at the pitch.

喜欢: The pool was very nice Very friendly helpful receptionist. Fresh bread can be ordered for each morning. Good size pitch Bathroom Facilities ok although couldn’t find a specific washing up area. Lovely bike ride into Ronda on pretty safe road bit quite a steep return !

不喜欢: Shop had almost nothing in it at all just sweets and soft drinks really so buy food elsewhere ! No wi fi except in the restaurant which is annoying as advert says it has wifi in camping area and it didn’t It also didnt feel ok ro go in there to use it without eating as busy quite smart and serving full meals ratner than a cafe. Atmosphere... so nowhere to sit and chill whilst using internet We ended up standing 2 metres from restaurant to use it each time

喜欢: Pretty much the perfect site, very friendly staff, good level pitches with access roads, clean facilities. Not far from the lovely town of Ronda with it's spectacular layout and scenery. Couldn't fault the site one bit

To the mountaintop city of Ronda first, for shops, restaurants, tapas bars and Moorish sites such as the Arab baths, Ronda bullring (one of the oldest in Spain), the Palacio de Mondragón and the gardens – and spectacular views – of Paseo de Blas Infante. Ronda's also famed for its El Tajo gorge, where the Guadalevín river gushes through the city centre: stop off on the 18th-century bridge spanning the gorge for stunning views over the Serranía de Ronda mountains. This beaut part of Andalusia is a land of high peaks, Spanish fir forests and the white villages of the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos and their buildings dating back to Phoenician and Roman times. The best known of these is probably Setenil de las Bodegas, where houses hang over the Trejo river; other must-sees are Olvera, Grazalema, Algodonales, El Gastor and Zahara de la Sierra, all most picworthy indeed. Caves, caverns, chasms and caving are popular picks too: take a trip to see the 25,000 year old wall paintings of Cueva del Hundidero-Gato and Cueva de la Pileta, making up Andalusia's biggest cave system. The caves are about half an hour's drive away and can be visited in groups of up to 20 – booking in advance is essential, so ask the Camping El Sur reception team to assist. Fishing, horse riding, paragliding, hot air ballooning and greenway cycling trails are all within easy reach.
