City sightseeing break or hilltop rural retreat? Treat yourself to both at Parque Campismo da Penha, a mountain campsite set atop the wooded summit of Monte da Penha, known for its distinctive granite boulders. Surrounded by greenery, the site has stunning views of the historic city of Guimarães (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which is only a 15-minute drive or a quick, scenic cable car ride away. Hilltop pitches are tucked under the shade of the tree canopy, so everything stays pleasant and cool in summer. Once you’re all settled in, spend leisurely hours around the swimming pool with the kids, or go off adventuring (taking any accompanying four-legged friends with you, of course) to spot the massive granite boulders scattered around the forest floor. From the site, there’s also direct access to short religious and nature trails to the art deco-style Penha Sanctuary or Pius IX Penha for views over the city. Alternatively, spend urban days out exploring the monuments, museums, and local cuisine in Guimarães – much the quickest way to get down there from your mountaintop base is by the Teleférico de Penha cable car. Guests at Parque Campismo da Penha get a special discount on the cable car trip. A downhill mountain biking trail, a miniature golf course, restaurants and an equestrian centre are all within a short walk of the site, too, and open according to the weather conditions during your stay.

喜欢 Camping idéalement situé en pleine nature, sur les hauteurs. Il est bien sécurisé, bien entretenu, propre, et les emplacements pour vans et camping-cars sont clairement délimités. Le personnel est sympathique et très accueillant. Je le recommande vivement.

喜欢 Ya es el tercer año consecutivo que vamos, varias veces durante el verano. Nos encanta la tranquilidad que el camping ofrece, la limpieza en baños y zonas comunes como lavaderos, fregaderos ,parque infantil y piscina. La ubicación nos parece genial,tardas muy poco en llegar con el coche a la ciudad,y si no se quiere coger coche hay opción de coger teleférico el cual ofrece un descuento estando alojado en el camping. Tiene mucho sitio para pasear en las inmediaciones del camping, con tranquilidad y buenas vistas,incluso aparte de la cafetería del camping varias cafeterías en los alrededores. Estamos muy contentos con este lugar, el personal es inmejorable y siempre esperamos con ansias para volver.

不喜欢 Schlechte Kommunikation - Beschreibung im Angebot passte nicht zur Realität. In der Beschreibung war gesagt, dass mehr als ein Wohnmobil auf einem Stellplatz möglich sind. Wir wollten noch ein kleines Zelt zusätzlich aufstellen, was uns untersagt wurde (in direkter Nachbarschaft standen kleine Wohnwagen mit überdimensionalen Vorzelten, z.T. mit mehreren Vorzelten).
Der Zugang zum Fluss ist effektiv kaum möglich, obwohl dies in der Beschreibung so beschrieben wurde.
Die Sicherheitsmaßnahmen am Ein-/ Ausgang waren so ausgeprägt, dass man ohne die Zugangskarte das Grundstück noch nicht mal verlassen konnte - das könnte spannend werden, wenn ein Notfall eintreten sollte.

喜欢 The most magical place we have been to for a long time , the top of a cool mountain with trailers and paths close to the camp site and cable car down to town for 5 euros return.
Extremely clean pool and friendly staff .

喜欢 Great reception from friendly staff. We were travelling with friends so we had booked ahead for our two motorhomes - they had reserved the pitches for us and made us feel really welcome. It's a tricky drive up the hill to get to the sire but it's worth it. Fantastic location almost at the top of the hill - from where the views over the city are simply fantastic. And the best bit - there's a cable car from around the corner all the way down the hill into the heart of the old city of Guimaraes - amazing!

Keep the cultural theme going in lovely Guimarães (15 minutes) and have a potter around the decorative-art collections in the striking 15th-century Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, or a climb up to the battlements of the medieval castle for views over the town and back to Monte da Penha. History and heritage attended to, take a stroll around the photogenic cobbled streets of the old city centre, then seek out Largo da Oliveira square; it’s time to settle back in a terrace café with a glass of chilled local vinho verde.
