An Amsterdam break… but without the noise, crowds and expense that come with city centre stays? If that sounds like quite the combo, take a look at EuroParcs Het Amsterdamse Bos, a peaceful North Holland site surrounded by woodland, canals and open spaces in the 2,500-acre Amsterdam Forest, 10 minutes’ drive from Amstelveen. Although you might not guess it from the gorgeous green surrounds (which lend themselves well to strolls, swims, bike rides and canoe trips), the site is just eight kilometres from Amsterdam’s city centre. Arguably the best way to get there (and to blend in with the locals) is to hire bikes on site and pedal off along a cycle lane through the Vondelpark to the city’s central attractions in around half an hour or so. For those who prefer to save their muscle power for meandering around museums, it’s also easy to ride into the centre via public transport – a bus stop is just outside the site, and there’s a metro station within walking distance as well. Handily, there’s also a direct bus to Schiphol airport (around 20 minutes away) for easy getaways by air or connecting with trains to other Dutch cities. Back at base, lots of essential facilities are sorted, including a shop and a launderette; there’s also a spacious bathroom block with plenty of toilets and showers.

喜欢 Very far from everthing, very landly, around the corner from the airport: only 12 km :)

不喜欢 You need another bus ticket, not obly that for the gvb so you can travel to amsterdam. Or you walk 20 mknutes to the next stop that is possible. Use the GVB app but not when apple pay is installed

喜欢 very nice park with excellent showers. The large park next door is great for hiking and cycling. Easy bike ride to the heart of the city . (35-45 minutes)

不喜欢 Typical of almost all Camps wifi only works near the offices up front.

喜欢 Good, spacious, grassy pitches. Shower block and washing up facilities were kept properly clean despite it being peak season. Great shop and helpful reception staff

不喜欢 Close to roads etc so not the quietest but that didn’t bother us

喜欢 Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly. We used as base for the F1, buses are really easy and reliable. Also great price for bike hire- we cycled to Amsterdam in about 40 minutes with kids.

不喜欢 We had a few noisy neighbours but not the fault of the park, a risk you take on at every campsite. The planes flying over can go well into the night- I slept with headphones but kids had no issue sleeping.

喜欢 Staff in reception were so polite, friendly and helpful. Site was exceptional clean and pleasant. Very child friendly and lots of areas local to ride bikes.

不喜欢 The airport is fairly close and it became quite noisy throughout the night with planes landing and taking off.
