An Amsterdam break… but without the noise, crowds and expense that come with city centre stays? If that sounds like quite the combo, take a look at EuroParcs Het Amsterdamse Bos, a peaceful North Holland site surrounded by woodland, canals and open spaces in the 2,500-acre Amsterdam Forest, 10 minutes’ drive from Amstelveen. Although you might not guess it from the gorgeous green surrounds (which lend themselves well to strolls, swims, bike rides and canoe trips), the site is just eight kilometres from Amsterdam’s city centre. Arguably the best way to get there (and to blend in with the locals) is to hire bikes on site and pedal off along a cycle lane through the Vondelpark to the city’s central attractions in around half an hour or so. For those who prefer to save their muscle power for meandering around museums, it’s also easy to ride into the centre via public transport – a bus stop is just outside the site, and there’s a metro station within walking distance as well. Handily, there’s also a direct bus to Schiphol airport (around 20 minutes away) for easy getaways by air or connecting with trains to other Dutch cities. Back at base, lots of essential facilities are sorted, including a shop and a launderette; there’s also a spacious bathroom block with plenty of toilets and showers.

Liked Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly. We used as base for the F1, buses are really easy and reliable. Also great price for bike hire- we cycled to Amsterdam in about 40 minutes with kids.

Disliked We had a few noisy neighbours but not the fault of the park, a risk you take on at every campsite. The planes flying over can go well into the night- I slept with headphones but kids had no issue sleeping.

Recommend to friends Visit again

I would stay again. Close enough to Dam central to bike/catch an uber

Liked Staff in reception were so polite, friendly and helpful. Site was exceptional clean and pleasant. Very child friendly and lots of areas local to ride bikes.

Disliked The airport is fairly close and it became quite noisy throughout the night with planes landing and taking off.

Disliked Überall Sauberkeit komplett schlecht!!!
Im Bungalow sowie in den Duschen.
Wasser beim Duschen war immer kalt.
Kiosk leider nur bis 19 Uhr geöffnet.

Disliked Only thing I did not like is that people were coming out the toilet and washing there hands in the washing dishes sink coz the other wask sinks are are at the back

Disliked L'accueil d'une des réceptionnistes, nous avions demandé lors de notre réservation d'être a côté de nos amis, lors de notre ce n'est pas le cas, on nous dit que le camping est complet.
On nous dit aussi que nous aurions payer en plus et cocher la case lors de la réservation, après vérification sur le site aucune case trouvé pour choisir l'emplacement.
Nous sommes retourné a la réception,
Nous nous faisons refoulé directement par la 2eme réceptionniste très désagréable, rien n'est vérifié et aucune solution proposée, sa collègue gênée nous présente ses excuses.
Les sanitaire ne sont pas propres, le trampoline pour les enfants est dangereux pour eux.
