Green green surroundings, a lakeside setting and a beer garden right on the grounds – bikers, families and groups, roar up to this Lower Saxony site for tiptop times. Fishing, swimming, rowing, boating and even ice skating, should you feel particularly co-ordinated, are all at your disposal here: Campingplatz Bullerby is on the edge of a reservoir for watery hours, and its setting in the Tecklenburg countryside surrounded by the Wiehen mountain range is rightly nifty for hikes, cycle rides and motorbiking. A hiking trail of just over a kilometre is on site. There's loads of room too for dreamy wanders and finding solitary spots, as Bullerby stretches over 20 hectares between the lake and its surrounding forest. For city days, sighseeing and shopping, ancient Osnabrück is under 20 minutes' drive away. Campingplatz Bullerby has well-defined pitches in a spacious green area. There's a playground and a play area, a tennis court, and that beer garden, with roomy terrace for setting down on and sampling some local German beer. Pedal boats are available to hire on site.

Campingplatz Bullerby's setting close to the A1 makes it a cinch for getting out and about in the Osnabrück region and Lower Saxony. A golf course is a short drive away too; the Ahornweg, the 100-kilometre maple tree trail passing through the southern part of the Osnabrück region, is accessible within 20 minutes by car. Also a short drive away is the old city of Osnabrück, home to a good range of restaurants and shops as well as play parks and a public pool. Have a look at the 11th-century cathedral or the gallery and museum covering the life and works of artist and painter Felix Nussbaum if you're up for history and culture; for family days, there's Osnabrück Zoo as well as the old music hall of Hyde Park, an Osnabrück institution for music and young people. Have a plant-based day at the Emsflower adventure and garden park, about 40 minutes' drive away, where there's a butterfly garden, tropical garden, indoor playground and restaurant.

不喜欢: This has to be the worst site in which I have ever stayed. Staff were rude, there was no running water, pitch was dreadful. If I hadn’t driven all day to get there, I would have left immediately.

喜欢: The toilets were clean, and as the site wasn’t very busy, there was a lot of outdoor space for the children to run around.

不喜欢: The site generally (apart from the toilets) seemed a little run down.. the children’s play area was covered in weeds (not the neat and tidy area depicted in the online pictures) and one of the slides seemed very old and unsafe; large cracks in it..

喜欢: Location was okayish. Although the buses only go there during business hours.

不喜欢: No toilet paper, hosts are incomprehensible, water is not right for swimming (to dirty), grass hasn’t been mowed for ages, a lot of insects.

Toll gelegen am Wasser.

不喜欢: Een camping met heel veel achterstallig onderhoud, onvriendelijk personeel. Vervallen seizoenplekken, prijs-kwaliteitverhouding veel te hoog. Je kunt alleen contant betalen. Kortom zeer slecht.
