On the outskirts of the village of Descartes (named after its most famous son, the mathematician René), Camping Onlycamp La Roseraie is a great spot from which to explore the historic region of Touraine. The peaceful dog-friendly site sits close to the Creuse river – indeed, it’s a short five-minute walk to the local watersports base, where you can hire a canoe or kayak to explore this waterway. Dotted with tall trees that provide welcome shade during the warm summer months, La Roseraie is a magnet for families: while the kids make new friends (with their contemporaries) in the play area or (with the resident donkeys) in the paddock, grown-ups can embrace a relaxed French lifestyle on the pétanque court or on leisurely riverside walks or cycle rides. Speaking of pedalling, active types might like to have a go at the greenway departing from Descartes and going all the way to Tournon-Saint-Pierre (1 hour and 40 minutes by bike) to the south. Among the great pleasures of being in France are the delicious breakfast pastries, and in high season, guests at La Roseraie can place an order for flaky, buttery croissants and crusty baguettes; meanwhile the on-site shop stocks local products and ice cream, plus a range of hot and cold drinks. For anything else you might need, there are shops in Descartes, plus a supermarket a five-minute drive away. In addition to hot-water showers and a toilet block (including a space reserved for guests with reduced mobility), the site has a launderette and a washing-up area.

不喜欢 The cockerels ! At 3.23am ..then regularly until dawn. Just unnecessary, next to a campsite in town.
I’d been woken by a camper van coming in at midnight too.
So a really disturbed night.

不喜欢 Booked this site because it had a pool but couldn’t use because it was closed and not open again until midday, the next day. Maybe advertise facilities open times.

喜欢 We had a fantastic 2 days here, very clean and tidy and very friendly staff, the pitches were very nice and spacious and plenty of shade, the showers were clean and well maintained, we did crazy golf which was good fun but also quite hard, the pool was good fun and desperately needed as it was 38°c

喜欢 Attached to municipal swimming pool complex which had plenty of options for swimmers of all ages.
Facilities were cleaned regularly and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Location included gardens to visit, animals for the children to see and a riverside location.

不喜欢 Narrow alley to access was difficult to turn into off the road with a caravan in tow. An alternative route is available but needed a passerby to provide directions.

L’accès au camping ne se fait qu avec un badge ce qui est sécurisant pour les enfants
La base de loisirs attenante au. Camping est géniale et gratuite pour les campeurs
Mini golf,terrain de boules, jeux pour les enfants , snacks et surtout grande piscine avec 4 bassins de différentes profondeurs et surtout 2 grands toboggans
Même le personnel de la piscine et du snack sont adorables
Je pense revenir l année prochaine
