Weave a scenic and historic Normandy holiday with a stay at Camping Municipal des Bords de l'Aure, set an easy riverside walk away from the town centre of Bayeux and its world-famed tapestry telling the story of the Battle of Hastings and the Norman invasion of England. More recent history can be learnt about around the Normandy D-Day beaches, around 10 minutes' drive away from base. Otherwise opt to try the many outdoor activities in the region, like the 36-hole golf course at Omaha beach 25 minutes' drive away, or the horse riding and watersports centres within 10 kilometres. The Parc Festyland theme park is also only 25 minutes' drive away for a day on the rides. The site has bikes to hire to take to the town or the coast. Also around for guests are a playground, table tennis and a pétanque court. There may be no pool on site, but there's a splendid indoor pool at the Centre aquatique Auréo, which is just five minutes' walk away from the site and free for guests to use. Those activities are sure to give you a healthy appetite, so it's handy that the site has a bread and pastries service.

喜欢 Mooie groene camping, schoon, mooi sanitair en vriendelijk personeel. De ligging kort bij de stad is een plus en een mooi fietspad ( route 5 ) naar Arromanches was ook een opsteker.

不喜欢 Plek 28 was moeilijk om in te sturen met de verhoogde stoepranden. Misschien moet men daar wat alerter op zijn. De lengte van de camper was immers doorgeven.

Spacious pitch. Excellent clean facilities. Great value for money

喜欢 Great location and good facilities. Easy walk into Bayeux. Clean showers, toilets and washing facilities.

不喜欢 A small amount of traffic noise but nothing to disturb us.

Good facilities and pitches would definitely recommend.

喜欢 The pitch and the facilities were lovely, clean, well maintained and exactly as described. The stand out to the campsite was actually the service, I had a lovely exchange with the lady on reception, she encouraged my French language even though she was fluent in English. Our electric cable wasn’t quite long enough to reach the power point and she offered to move us to another pitch, then also offered us her extension cable on loan. All sorted and we had a lovely stay.
The pizza van visiting site looked busy and the pizzas looked amazing, wish we’d had one!
The motorhome pitches where level and easy to park in, lovely shady spot under all the trees.
Will definitely be back again.

喜欢 We haven’t used Pitchup abroad before and you still gave us an excellent experience. The site was immaculate & the facilities were very clean. The location was perfect, with an easy walk into Bayeux
We will definitely be using you again when planning our next journey.

不喜欢 Playground near pitch. Boys playing in table tennis table with football. No respect. Lights go out in shower/toilet far too quickly. End up in the dark.

Take the peaceful stroll or quick bike ride from the site into the centre of Bayeux a kilometre away, home of course to the mammoth Bayeux Tapestry, the 68 metres of 11th-century tapestry depicting the Normandy invasion of England and the subsequent Battle of Hastings. Also in town are the 11th-century Bayeux Cathedral, a British war cemetery, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy and the MAHB art museum, with paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, porcelain and Bayeux lace from throughout the centuries. Another D-Day museum is at Arromanches-les-Bains (10 minutes' drive) and the Normandy landing beaches of Omaha (25 minutes), Juno (25 minutes) and Utah (45 minutes) are all within striking distance. The Caen Memorial, commemorating World War II and the Battle for Caen, is 25 minutes' drive away. Outdoor activities are easily sorted with local horse riding, a couple of kilometres from the site, or with watersports including paddleboarding, sailing and sea kayaking at the nearby Normandy beaches, 10 minutes' drive away. You could also spend a day at the Les etangs de planquery (25 minutes), or take the kids to the Parc Festyland (25 minutes), themed around the events of 1066 and all that.
