France or Germany? Germany or France? If you can't decide, have both with a stay at Camping L'Île du Rhin in the Ile du Rhin tourist region on the French/German border: that'll be two types of wine and cuisine to try then... It's all very peaceful here, set over seven acres under shady pines, and between the Rhine and the Grand Canal of Alsace in the village of Biesheim. If you're feeling (a little) active, the municipal pool just 500 metres away has reduced rates for site guests. Camping L'Île du Rhin provides plenty of sport and recreation activities like volleyball, badminton, football, basketball and pétanque. Kids have a playground where activities, entertainment and sports tournaments are held. The park also has a shop and snack bar (during low season, this is open from Friday to Sunday only), a launderette and a kitchen area with a coffee machine and microwave. Fresh bread is available to order and the nearest supermarkets are six kilometres away.

喜欢 Czyste łazienki, cicho i spokojnie mimo dużej ilości ludzi. Ładnie połozony nad Renem. Na moście 15 min spacerem od kempingu znajduje się przystanek autobusowy- można pojechać do Colmar za 4 euro od os. Po niemieckiej stronie znajduje się miasteczko, a z góry przy katedrze roztacza się piękny widok na okolicę.

喜欢 Kids park was nice.
Hire a ball for 20 euro deposit.

不喜欢 Spiders all over toilet/shower block, kids were scared to go in at all!
Very poor choice in on-site cafe for food. Pitches were not the best, told to just go find one. No dryers.

喜欢 Lage sehr gut (Breisach und Bushaltestelle nach Colmar zu Fuß erreichbar), freie Platzwahl,
ordentliche Sanitäranlagen, freundliche Damen an der Rezeption, umfangreiche Spiel- und Sportmöglichkeiten

不喜欢 Nur spätere Anreise möglich, lt. Website 16-19 h (allerdings war bei meinem Aufenthalt auch 15h möglich), Grauwasserentsorgung etwas beengt und umständlich, angekündigte Animation nicht vorhanden

Reasonable sized pitches.
Clean facilities.
Good location for exploring BlackForest and Colmar.

不喜欢 Hot bathrooms, no/poor lighting in women’s. Not all showers available.
Aggressive mosquitos.
Electrical points can be a long way from your pitch.

Staff in little bar was lovely .
Toilets and showers were clean

不喜欢 Paid for xl premium pitch but whrn arrived said choose anywhere people in single tents were in large pitches and we was left with a very small pitch which wasn't what we paid for.

Didn't speak English they did attempt to translate using phones but was quite difficult on check in .

Stated entertainment but there wasn't any .

Charge for WiFi which is quite expensive 22 euros for a day .

Bring your toughest walking boots and get lost among the Alsatian days, trekking trails, history, rural landscapes and forests of Breisach country; local produce should of course be consumed, Pacmanlike, on the way too. Once you cross the border to Germany from Camping L'Île du Rhin, you'll be in the Black Forest, the country's biggest natural park and said to be one of the finest forests in Europe. Woods, mountains, valleys and lakes are all around, along with mighty scenic villages (said to have inspired the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm), watersports at the Titisee and the Schluchsee, and the many spa resorts of Badenweiler, Bad Herrenalb and the like. Back in Breisach, take a long lazy river cruise for smashing views of the local countryside and its many villages, rent a bike to pedal freely around, try some watersports or dip into the local pool, just 300 metres from base.
