Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site – good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

喜欢 The facilities were very good and the pitches were spacious. The person I spoke to was very helpful when it turned out we had brought the wrong car and couldn't get through the front barrier due to number plate recognition. The location is very close to Snowden, particularly the start of the Snowden Ranger track which is great for beginner hikers.

不喜欢 There does not appear to be much drainage and the pitches became waterlogged with the heavy rain. These puddles remained for multiple days. The shower facilities had become heavily infested with insects which made them difficult to use for those who, like myself, do not like insects. I hope management addresses this with something like insect mesh in the windows for future guests.

喜欢 Easy check in with friendly staff and very nice accommodation in static caravan. Site was well kept and in a very pretty location. The heritage railway running adjacent was a bonus as well and the beautiful views of the hills. A well provisioned local shop in nearby village and only 15 minutes to Caernarfon.

喜欢 We liked the location which was convenient for the steam trains. The pitch was level and spacious, and close to the facilities which were very clean. The wifi worked well. Booking was easy, and the owners changed the first set of dates for us with no quibbling. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous.

不喜欢 The hairdryers didn't work, and one of the washroom heaters didn't work either. This didn't matter too much but could be inconvenient.

喜欢 Large pitches, amazing views, staff helpful. Facilities were clean and spacious. Small shop onsite if you need anything. Good value for money.

There is a bus stop right outside the camp, we caught the bus as we had booked the Snowdonia Star Railway Trip - which was well worth the money, the dogs even came with us.

不喜欢 This isn't really a dislike, more of an observation. We were in field 3 there was only 3 showers, 5 toilets and 2 washing up areas which were where outside 2 of the showers which was a bit awkward when someone was in the shower. If the campsite was busy this felt it wouldn’t be enough for the area if the field was full, I know there was a sign up that specified if busy use the facilities in another field.
