Tucked away between the western edge of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park and the coastal town of Caernarfon, Bach Ventures Camping is a small and friendly family-run site that makes an excellent base for all the attractions and activities this part of the world has to offer. Set back from the main road and accessed via a 200-metre drive, this a peaceful place that welcomes all sorts of guests, including walkers, cyclists, families and visitors with dogs (a doggy bin is provided and you'll need to keep them under control on a lead while on site). Facilities are simple but well kept, with toilets, showers (no extra charge) and hot-water washing amenities all provided in separate blocks behind the main house. Barbecue and campfires are permitted to help you cook and keep warm. Single-night stopovers are very welcome here, but this is an area that's jam-packed with things to do so it also lends itself well to longer stays. Two of the six paths up Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon are five minutes' drive away, and there are lots of other outdoor activities around, including coasteering, climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and scuba diving. Several heritage attractions – including Caernarfon Castle and the National Slate Museum are within easy reach, and it's a 20-minute drive to the bridge over to Anglesey.

喜欢: The friendliness of the owner. The small campsite, which feels aimed at small families and walkers. The communal fire pit. A very nice little campsite with 2 lovely warm showers, and warm running water. And 2 toilets. Very clean and neat and a great place to stay. The s2 Sherpa bus picks up not far from here... Or you can drive to llanberis or caernarfon.
