Load up the motorhome and head to northern Wales – and Ty Ucha Caravan Park. In the Clwydian Range & Dee Valley National Landscape, this peaceful site is surrounded by gentle tree-covered hills such as Pen-y-Coed, so every morning you get to emerge from your accommodation to a rather splendid natural landscape. Hikers might find it impossible to resist the lure of those hills (easily reached via a network of pretty paths), while hardcore climbers in search of a challenge might have their eyes on the raggedy peaks farther in the distance. These include Moel Fferna (50 minutes’ drive); your dog (who’s welcome at the site) should enjoy the exercise and can look forward to having a good sniff of the heather at the summit. Your canine companion can also join you on an exploration of the long weir at Horseshoe Falls (10 minutes, or an hour’s walk along the River Dee), though you will have to keep them on a lead there. Speaking of the River Dee: if you’re into angling, you can get a ticket from the local club (Llangollen Maelor) and spend a day fishing for trout and salmon. Following the river to the west takes you to Llangollen town (five minutes, or a half-hour walk), with its restaurants, independent shops and supermarkets, plus attractions like Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens. Amenities on site include a modern toilet and shower block (including facilities for disabled guests), and a large washing-up area with multiple sinks. There are also water and drainage hook-up points.

喜欢 The location was very good, just a 20minute walk to the town centre of Llangollen.
The pitch was well kept, spacious and the views were very picturesque.
The new toilet block onsite was the cleanest, and most well thought out I’ve ever seen!
Ange was also very polite and accommodating during our stay.
We will definitely be looking to return in the new year!

喜欢 Lovely location. Excellent shower/toilet block. Very friendly customer service from Helen (I think). She’s very familiar with the local area so a great one to ask any questions from. Loved the radio playing in the shower block!

It’s about 20-25 mins walk to the centre of Llangollen (gorgeous place). I took a canal barge trip to and over the agueduct. Snacks and cream teas available on board (and a bar!).

不喜欢 WiFi patchy but if you’re escaping from usual life it’s no problem!

喜欢 Where to start the greeting from Helen the owner was exceptional so friendly and welcoming and very informative and even lent us a tv cable to ensure we could receive tv channels, secondly the site itself wow and double wow the pitches are well spaced and the views are spectacular no matter where you are the surrounding countryside and mountains are to die for the toilet and shower block are exceptional immaculate clean and modern, Angie the site manager was so friendly and kept the site spotless and very helpful.The walk into town was easy took around 25 minutes but easy walk and the town itself is a must as it’s outstanding, we stayed three nights on our month long tour in our motorhome but would gladly stay on this site for the whole month absolutely fantastic and we will definitely be back many thanks to Helen and Angie for a fantastic stay AAA +

喜欢 Mooie ruime plekken. Douchegebouw is subliem en nog erg nieuw. Llangollen is makkelijk te voet te bereiken. Een leuke plaats. De beheerder is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ik zou meteen terugkomen.

不喜欢 Helaas was er geen wifi op het terrein…

喜欢 Fantastic location for walking, short walk into town (20mins), lovely welcome from Angela, the site manager and from the owners, Helen and Clare. Amazing facilities - spotlessly clean, hot showers without annoying press and hold buttons (3 ladies showers, 3 toilets and 2 men’s showers, 3 toilets). Washing up area with loads of hot water. Site secured by barrier. Phone number available for Billy’s taxi (who is a really nice bloke). Congrats to you all for restoring this beautiful site.

Designed by Thomas Telford in the early 19th century, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (10 minutes’ drive) is an awe-inspiring construction soaring high above the River Dee, supported by 18 monumental pillars. These days, perhaps the best thing about the aqueduct (if you don’t suffer from vertigo, that is…) is that you can take a boat trip along the top. National Trust - Chirk Castle (15 minutes) is a well-preserved fortress built during the reign of Edward I. Check out its elegant interiors, like the panelled Long Gallery, a 17th-century addition decorated with artworks and period furniture. Or stroll around the manicured gardens, looking for the most Instagrammable spot. The Roman heritage of Chester (45 minutes) includes an amphitheatre and sections of the city walls, along which you can walk for a bird’s-eye view of the city. Residents at Chester Zoo, on the outskirts of the city, include lions, capybaras and red pandas.
