Pitch and Hike

喜欢: The Pitch and Hike Campsite provided an exceptional camping experience that beautifully balanced the charm of backpacking with a few welcome comforts. The combination of the natural beauty of the area, abundant wildlife (from tiny voles to majestic red kites), and the warm hospitality of our host made our short stay truly unforgettable. Even the midges couldn't detract from the experience! Our host's advice on approaching the Daear Ddu scramble up Moel Siabod was invaluable, and added some much needed context. It being the view from the tent was an added bonus! I would highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat as part of an adventure. Five stars, well-deserved! Also phone reception was great. That's always nice isn't it.

喜欢: The location was so serene. The pitch was prepared in advance and the communication between the hosts and myself fantastic. Loved the hammocks on the pitch, was a lovely surprise! Brilliantly clean facilities and really felt looked after!

喜欢: The campsite is nice and secluded, not many pitches which is good. Toilet facilities were immaculate. The fire pit was nice and ready as soon as we arrived. Mel was brilliant, she greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our pitch. It was extremely easy to call and ask for help if we needed it.

喜欢: The camp site is very thoughtfully landscaped so that each tent has a very bespoke camping pitch. There are trees dotted in between tent pitches so you get a real sense of space from other campers. The toilets are also exceptional and very clean. It is a small campsite which we loved, and it is lovely being in a camp site so far away from any roads or vehicles. The location is also great for hikers, close to lots of mountains and country trails.

不喜欢: We loved how in the sticks this campsite is, but make sure that you are packing light / not packing a heavy tent! We struggled with our 70L backpacks and tent.

喜欢: Excellent site in a lovely wooded area. Great location for numerous hiking routes. The Ower Mel was very friendly and helpful. The site had exceptionally clean toilets and adequate drinking water facilities. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you :)

喜欢: Wild camp feeling, Scenic mountain views. The host was amazing and very friendly and happy to help. I would highly recommend this campsite to any solo camper, the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful.

喜欢: Peaceful. Clean toilets. Fire pit fire was great. Friendly hosts.

不喜欢: Walk was definitely more than 10-15 minutes. Wasn’t stated that the route was a steep incline. I’m a very fit person and I did the walk route in 13 mins with no luggage or pack, running some of the way and on the way back down, not up! I really think this should be specified for people who aren’t good walkers. Route needs to be better sign posted. Taking your rubbish with you when there’s no vehicle access isn’t ideal. Ground is too rocky for pegs to go fully into the ground.

来自经理: Having chosen to leave your previous campsite early due to problems you encountered with it, we are very disappointed and apologise that we were not a completely successful last-minute alternative for you. We are sorry you feel we fell below the high standards we strive to achieve as a small, family-run campsite and regret that you felt the route-out was longer than described. We send out comprehensive directions but believe that you must have run a longer route, as you did on arrival, as this is not a problem we have experienced before; especially with "Pitch and Hike", as the name indicates, mainly being aimed at Snowdonia hikers and cyclists. We also have not encountered the peg problem before so we can only apologise for the difficult time you had. Unfortunately being located in the very heart of Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park it is naturally hilly and signage on public footpaths is not permitted. We work very hard to provide a friendly, unique, close to wild, camping experience with high standards, following the "leave no trace" code of practice.

喜欢: Campsite was a perfect hide away, just the right facilities for a stop off on a weekend in the hills. Mel was a brilliant host.
