Ca’s Camping is in pole position for anyone keen to get out and about in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (formerly the Brecon Beacons). Situated on the edge of the mountains, with glorious views right from your tent, this is wild camping in a peaceful, flat meadow on an organic farm with dairy cows, free-range hens and ponies. The dogs get to come on your Welsh adventure too (on leads please), and you can exercise them in the designated 2.5-acre meadow adjoining the camping field, which has a stream running through the middle for family splashings around. A 10-minute walk in woodland takes you to waterfalls on a tributary of the Tarrell River. Pick up barbecue supplies from handy supermarkets in Brecon (10 minutes’ drive, check out the historic cathedral too), where there are also masses of pubs, fish and chip shops and takeaways for those nights when no one wants to cook. If you’re staying on a Saturday night, eat on site at Ca’s Citchen, where the owner cooks a tasty farmhouse supper (with dessert) made from locally sourced produce. Eat outside under the pergola or take your food back to your pitch. Simple site facilities include a toilet and shower block, a washing-up area and rubbish recycling points. An added bonus is the standpipes providing drinking water straight from a spring in the mountains.

喜欢 A haven at the foot of the famous Pen/y-fan. Quiet and convenient, 1.4 miles from Brecon. We managed to get Dominos to deliver a pizza to us! Walking distance to the main walking routes. Clean toilets. Great ground, flat and well kept.

Personal review: Was a nice, clean, big open space, easy to find and get to, and sign posted well. Pitching up was easy enough and plenty of space for everyone at the time.
Barely any noise tiny bit from vehicles going past if on a certain side of the site but nothing to complain about. Seemingly good value for the nights we spent there.

Ca was friendly and saw him restocking toilets and changing the bins being attentive to the site which is always good to see.
Separate gendered toilets which is good, but a tad basic but expected for camping, other than that toilets were clean and shower was powerful which was good after a hike.
Had a great view of the hillsides and was a good distance from some good hikes.

不喜欢 Black mould on the ceiling of the toilets/shower in the mens.

Breakfast at the camp was a tad overpriced for what it was, but expected as a luxury for not doing it yourself.

喜欢 The field was well kept, and the toilet and shower block was clean throughout our stay. Ca is a very friendly host, and offers hot food for purchase on some evenings and mornings. Pen y Fan is walkable straight from the campsite, and we loved the spectacular views at the peak. The waterfall down the lane is also worth a visit.

喜欢 I'm very surprised, was so nice camping. It's a toilets, kitchen area, a hot water all the time and showers also. It was clean and nice place and also was very quiet too. We relaxed and enjoy. I recommended 100%. Thanks to the hosts. Also forgot, the place is perfect spotted. Its very close to 4 waterfalls and Peny y Fan!

喜欢 Absolutely LOVED our stay! What a gorgeous calm hidden gem of a campsite with a stunning view. Beautiful compact clean facilities with a much appreciated hot shower. We loved that we could choose our own pitch :) This lovely campsite is just what we needed for our weekend escape to come hiking.

喜欢 The owner came round asking if your all ok and took time out of his day to have a chat. Showers and toilets were always clean and stocked up every day with toilet roll and smelling fresh. lovely location great views and you can hear alot of wildlife and it didn’t keep you up at night.

The site is actually in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, so lots of hiking and cycling will probably be on the cards. You can start on the trail up Pen y Fan (two miles’ walk from site) for spectacular views over mountain ridges to the horizon. Another classic local yomp leads up to the Four Waterfalls (half an hour’s drive); get more outdoor inspiration from the National Park Visitor Centre (15 minutes). When something less hardcore is required, pedal or stroll along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal (10 minutes); otherwise there’s a golf course within five minutes’ drive and an indoor pool at Brecon Leisure Centre (10 minutes) – a handy diversion for any rainy days. Younger kids will doubtless love meeting all the cuddly animals at Cantref Adventure Farm, while teens can hone their off-roading skills at BattleMX (both 15 minutes). The National Showcaves Centre for Wales (25 minutes) is another great option for family days out, with its subterranean tours, dinosaur walks and recreated Iron Age village.
