Bishops Lydeard Caravan and Camping Site

喜欢 Lovely setting, our little one loved watching the chickens and geese!
Clean site, was apprehensive about the showers at first but they were really powerful!
Walked to the brewery for food and drinks!

喜欢 I can’t even begin to report how good this campsite is. From the warm welcome from Karen and her amazing hanging baskets, to the location, 10 mins walk from the West Somerset railway station, and Quantock Brewery. 15 mins walk to The Lethbridge pub which serves delicious, authentic Thai food. And just over the road from it is a Chinese takeaway with the most scrummy food. We took the steam train into Minehead, wowow, incredible. The site is most unusual in that it’s on the edge of a village, so we just parked up, set up and walked everywhere. The microbrewery was incredible, they have different street food vans every night and the best beers! The site is in a field, behind Karen’s house. Hens roam freely, geese were wandering round and there’s a walk into the woods where bats are a plenty. We LOVED this site. We will be back. Multiple times!!

喜欢 Fantastic simple friendly site with EHU, toilets and showers.
Short walk to Quantock Brewery taproom who have visiting food trucks Thursday-Sat. Also walking distance to west Somerset steam railway. Would recommend.

喜欢 Quiet, flat site with good access to the town and just a few minutes from the South West Steam Railway. Showers and Toilets were basic but adequate.
Were were lucky to be there with hot and sunny weather. Wouldn’t stay again as seen all we wanted in the area

喜欢 Lovely farm site. Level grass field kept well mown. A short walk to the West Somerset Railway. Friendly owners. Facilities are seasonal trailer type but spotlessly clean and sensibly located around the field. Some electric hook ups available. Everything worked as expected.

不喜欢 Might benefit from a couple of picnic bench/tables for tent/cyclist campers who otherwise might have nowhere to sit for meals.

喜欢 Owner was very pleasant and booking in was a simple process, location very good with steam trains a short walk away as is a microbrewery with varying pop-up eateries and village is only 5 mins by car away.

不喜欢 Site toilets are one trailer toilet and several portaloos, showers are on a trailer and very small so difficult to get dressed without getting clothes wet, field is undulating so difficult to get a flat spot for a caravan but fine for a tent

The shower trailer is standard size it has 4 bays, each has a slightly raised separate dressing area and with a seat and hooks to keep clothes dry. The shower curtain can be pulled back to make the area bigger. We also had a built shower room next door to the trailer which has a bigger shower and area Pedestal hot water sink, Seat and hooks. This is particularly useful if helping children, or if someone has mobility issues. All our showers are supplied with ‘Faith in Nature’ premium complimentary products. The toilet trailer is flushing toilets but we also supply our own clean portaloos as back ups. Again people with mobility issues often like to use these as flat on the ground avoiding any steps. All of these are regularly cleaned daily and serviced.

喜欢 It was a field in the middle of no where with a little farm. Nice and quiet. Easy to get too and from. I'm already planning my next stay

喜欢 A quiet large grass pitch with hook up on a working farm. There was plenty of space, level area, basic facilities - portable shower block, porta loos and toilet disposal unit.
Lots of trees although not many birds.
Most people respectful of noise at night.
Easy walk to Bishops Lydeard railway station and bus stops into Taunton.
Friendly owner on site.
